This is a great washer. I love the extra spin cycle that helps my old dryer not work so long. I love the energy savings and the water savings. Just remember to leave the door open when not using the washer. And make sure not to leave a finished load in the washer overnight as you'll get to wash it again. There's a little tune the washer plays when the load is done but it plays only once (which is good). but make sure to not leave the load in overnight. This washer is also much quieter than my old washer.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I purchased this washer and to my surprise it made a loud grinding noise as it washed- I ended up returning this product. Maybe I bought one that was defective- I did not feel that with a new product I should have to call for service...And my clothes smelled like the huge rubber gasket around the door...I will not purchase this item again.

I read all the reviews here before making the decision to buy the LG Model WM2050CW front loading washing machine. I also read hundreds of reviews for other washing machines as well. This machine had the best reveiws of any front loading washer that I could find. End result, I bought it and could not be more pleased.

What a cool washer. The design is amazing, and I found myself fascinated with how it works. I watched the first cycle I ran, as did my dogs who also found it interesting. I love the little song it plays at the end when the clothes are done. Of course the clothes come out clean, and it uses less detergent (as well as less water). Nice and big so i can wash my comforters. I love that it senses the weight and size of the load automatically. No regrets with picking this machine.
Yes, I recommend this product.

when my old upright died last month, this model was on sale with free delivery/haul off (BIG plus for me since i do not have a truck anymore). (delivery guys were very nice, by the way. ) the sale price put it in the same ballpark as good upright. i went with this one based on strong reviews here and elsewhere. clothes and big items are cleaner and do not get as beat up as with the upright. front loaders require a little more attention--like wiping the seal, leaving the door open, using he detergent--but i think the better performance is worth it. read and follow the instructions. remember to register the product. keep the receipt if you need home depot warranty service. lg provides a good price/performance ratio. for the price (esp sale), features and quality, this lg is hard to beat.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I just moved back to Florida and I have used LG front load machines for a few years now. I wanted to get another one for my condo, but didn't want to spend as much as I did on my first machines. This is the lowest priced LG front load washer and now I know why... They did not use as much sound insulation as they do in the higher priced models. The first time this one went into the spin cycle I thought it was a helicopter taking off... Besides that, it gets my cloths super clean (as expected) with very little water use. If I had it to do again, I would spend a few more dollars on a more sound proof model.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I purchased this washer three weeks ago - LOVE IT! For those of you switching from a top loader, don't hold back - make the switch. I kept shopping around, looking for a better deal - you won't get a better deal than this machine. TRUST ME - I spent about 2 years doing research online, this model has the most bang for your buck. I purchased it on sale at Home Depot - and it went on sale for $100 less 2 weeks after my purchase - and Home Depot refunded me the sale difference (upon request, no hassles)! Delivery, removal of my old washer, and setup took less than 20 minutes. It was so self explanatory there was basically no training involved. Press power button, select cycle type - then if you want, adjust the water temperature, spin speed & stain level. - press start. The first thing it does is a "load sensing" session where it spins around a couple of times then shows you with bars, how big the load is so you know how much soap to use. The most HE soap I have used is the "2" line on the HE Tide lid. I have done a few loads using the "pre-wash" cycle, there is an extra cup in the dispenser for this setting - I put the amount up to the "1" line for the pre-wash cycle if I use it. It will add about 15 minutes to the total cycle time. Make sure you read the instruction booklet before messing with the extra settings. For example, some of the settings only work with certain water temperature settings. It uses almost NO Water, I don't know how it does it - but the clothes come out extremely clean. It is very gentle on my delicates using the delicate cycle - without the darn agitator in the middle I now can throw my bra's & other nice clothes without them getting tangled up, stretched, and ruined. Going from several loads of laundry a day to one load every other day has been liberating!! I was able to stuff a king sized satin comforter in the machine, put it on the "bulky" setting and came out totally clean. It's so quiet you almost can't hear it. It spins sooo fast your dryer time will be a LOT less. If you are like me, and always use fabric softener & dryer sheets, be sure and put an extra dryer sheet in the dryer - since the loads are so much bigger. You also need to make sure your laundry basket is plenty big! I did have a little problem the second day I had the washer, I decided to post the resolution here in case this happens to you - for some reason the load sensor kept telling me I had a full load (4 bars I believe) even though I only had a few things inside. I called the toll free number which was NOT painful, and was given instructions that fixed it right away. Unplug the washers power cord, and hold down the power+start buttons at the same time for 15 seconds (strange) and it will reset. Worked like a charm - have not had any problems since then. The only complaint I have about this washer is very minor - the detergent dispenser is an all-plastic tray. Yes it's inside the drawer on the top left side of the washer safe and sound almost all the time, but you are supposed to take it all the way out and dump any excess water from it - I'm scared to remove it because it's plastic and I don't want to break it, so I just leave it open when I remember. This washer is highly recommended, super features for the amount of money. LOL I have already had friends and family over to see it - trying to convert them.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Moved into a new home and decided to upgrade our washing machine from the old one we had. Came down to LG, Samsung, and GE. We decided to go with this LG model - so glad we did!
First off, the warranty is amazing. 2 year on electronics, 10 year on motor, and lifetime on drum. Others can't even touch that.
The washer is small on the outside, but huge on the inside. Don't let the demensions fool you! It holds our queen-sized comforter no problem. We love how the washer "senses" the wash load each time, and adjusts wash time and water use accordingly.
This model doesn't have the bells and whistles like steam or water heater -- but we didn't need all that stuff that just breaks later. This washer does just what it says it will - washes things! It does great, there are a few different "movements" that the drum does to better clean, and our clothes come out very clean and fresh.
The spin cycle is amazing, clothes come out almost dry -- our basic dryer only takes about 25 minutes to dry things now! We don't have vibration issues, as they are in the basement on concrete floors.
We love that it is energystar rated -- the energystar tag says it will cost us about $10 PER YEAR to opperate! Awesome.
We haven't had any issues with mold or mildew, but if you follow the recommended prevention, you shouldn't have issues. It takes at most a minute to wipe down the seal/door and leave the door ajar. LG also recommends running a "tub clean" cycle monthly.
We love it. LG hit a homerun with this one. I'm sold on LG.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I purchased this washer (with the matching dryer) about 3 months ago. When I first receieved them I put them to good use and washed almost everything in my home. Now I only have to do about 3 loads a week because the washer holds so much! Even delicates can be washed without damage!

This washer has all the features you need, and then some, for a very reasonable price. Our old washer broke, and with the rebates, this one was almost the same price as repairing the old machine. I am thrilled with how quietly this washer operates, and with its many customizable settings. I do recommend getting the pedestal, as the door is quite low.

Saves money all way around. Uses less electricity and water. And spins the clothes dry enough to use less gas drying. My only problem is water hammer due to the wetting cycles. I guess my water pressure is so high that I need to go back to Home Depot and get water line braces, hangers and insulation.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought this washer to conserve water, primarily. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it is and how "dry" the clothes are when they are done spinning. The only thing I didn't realize is how long it takes to complete a load. A med-large load of cotton takes anywhere from 55-68 minutes. I am happy with the performance and feel much better about not using 40 gallons of water per load as was the case with my 30 year old Kenmore.

We needed a new washer and dryer so bad. Ours were old hand me downs probably from the early 90's. We just bought a house and couldn't spend tons on a new set. After searching for sales, I found this set. The reviews were good, and the price was fantastic! They were delivered and hooked up for us and immediately I started washing clothes. It's a little difficult to get used to all of the buttons (our old one only had one setting that worked), but after a couple of weeks I'm a pro! My ONLY complaint is that I wish it were easy to clean. We were told to leave the door open for 10 minutes after our last load to dry out, but even after 30 minutes of it being open there will still be condensation on the glass when closed. Other than that, this is such a wonderful washer!

I am so very happy with this purchase. I did a TON of research; I checked Consumer Reports (*hint* read the CUSTOMER REVIEWS, and do NOT rely upon just CR's report!!) and found this washer to be a good buy. I purchased this washer and the matching dryer, DLE2050W, from Home Depot as they had the lowest price and included free delivery. -They also had a great return policy, and our local HD is only about 1 mile from our house.
On to the washer: it cleans very well. Not QUITE as well as my last Siemen's machine, but the Siemen's broke down a few times before the inner seal finally tore all the way out (we replace the seal once). This washer we have had for 5 months. It gets a REAL workout; we have a family of 10, including twin sons with severe disabilities and incontinence. This washing machine does a GREAT job, uses less water, and is quiter than our last front-loader. It is SOLID. We use it an average of 4-5 loads PER DAY. That's a 4.0 capcity washer, and we still use it that much. It is holding up beautifully; not a hitch in 5 months.
You can also wash a BIG fluffy king size comforter in it, but I would recommend adding a bath towel or small blanket in with a large comforter to balance the load.
Speaking of balanced loads, this machine is awesome and will rebalance itself I'd say 90% of the time. The only times it gave me an error that I had to manually reload for was washing aforementioned huge fluffy king comforter without anything to help balance it.
It hasn't walked, or shook us to the moon (we have it installed upstairs). Noise-wise; I guess I can't comment too much on that. Noise has always been my least concern with any appliance, however, it does sound a bit like a space ship taking off when it spins out. I guess I wouldn't put it adjacent a wall that your bed happened to be behind due to noise, but other than that I'm thoroughly impressed, and I am a seriously tough customer.
I intend to update this review (or add another, whichever is allowed) at the one year mark and let you all know how it's holding up. Personally, I put a LOT of weight into customer reviews if a customer has owned the product for a while and can truly answer to durability.
As for now, I am a happy camper and would definitely recommend this cool washer and it's companion dryer.
-Ok, I also love the cute little tune it plays when it's finished! =)
Yes, I recommend this product.

LG WM2050CW 27in Front Load Washer, 4.0 cu. ft. Capacity - White reviewed here is a very good energy efficient clothes washer.
Before buying this from Home Depot store I did extensive research on all available Front load washers in the same price range as this and LG WM2050CW came at the top of the list and excellent reviews by the online communities and I am happy to say that this washer is indeed very good purchase!
The Quality of materials is one which obviously will help the longevity of the washer, The product is made in Korea and quality of materials is good.
It is so silent that at first I was wondering if it is working? but the clothes do come out very clean. Love the fact that it has TRUE balance of the drum and does not shake or rattle during the spin wash cycle, the clothes come out nearly dry which cuts the drying cycle into half - Highly recommended!
PROS
[+] Energy Star! Energy efficient model
[+] Washes clothes very well
[+] Little and no vibration due to True Balance Technology
[+] Direct Drive Motor with 10 year warranty
[+] User friendly controls with child lock feature
[+] Love the chime after the wash cycle!
CONS
[-] None for this price range
TIP:
(*) Keep the washer perfectly leveled for optimal results.
(*) Keep the detergent compartment clean after use
(*) Keep the door open for few hours for excess moisture out to prevent bad smell.
Most of the modern houses with copper plumbing may not experience knocking of pipes when the washer is in use, If you hear knocking of your house pipes do not panic, it is because the way this washer uses water in small bursts, if you like you can install a Mini-Rester Water Hammer Arrester (660-TR1 )to prevent this from happening.
It is very energy efficient and qualifies for PG&E electric and water supply energy rebates up-to $175 in some areas of California, With home depot selling this at around $600 minus $175 rebate from PG&E makes this washer a great buy!
Yes, I recommend this product.

As others have said you don't think you clothes will come out clean. But they do. Clothes are barely damp when coming out after the spin cycle. Vibrates more than more expensive units, read the manual though, there is a setting to help with vibrations. Wash cycles run about an hour. several options on adding extra wash time, rinses, more water, stain cycle, pre-wash etc. Item is very quiet except when it is draining.

Have owned for just 2 weeks. So far...so good. The machine is quieter than expected and the musical jingle is quite pleasant. Clothes are quite dry...so drier time is reduced. We are carefully drying out the washer to avoid mustiness--this is an extra step which I'd rather not do--but, hopefully--worth it. Although the normal load cycle is long the speed cycle is not. Like the timed feature--you can see just how many minutes are left in each cycle.

I stood and watched for 3 loads of clothes wondering how this machine could clean my clothes without using a large amount of water. I was getting ready to return this washer and go back to my top loader until i washed my last load of clothes, whites. My white clothes came out cleaner then they did when i had a top loader. This washer is very good. It's quite and it's spin cycle is remarkable. Removing almost all of the water from my clothes. I'm glad i did my homework and decided to purchase this machine. I give it 2 thumbs up
