Infrared is the ONLY way to go. I've grilled steaks to perfection. I did some salmon fillets on a cedar plank. They turned out great. I even did a pizza on my 16" stone. It tasted like it came out of a brick oven.

I have had this grill for about two months, and I love to grill on it. I love not having flame ups and burning food. While the heat isn't perfectly even, it has some cooler and warmer cooking areas, it is infinitely better than my last two gas grills which had very inconsistent temps across the cooking surface. So far no problem w rust, easy to start up, fairly easy to clean. I love not having a grease tray. Because the flame is not exposed and most of the cooking is done with the top down to keep heat in, I have used it under a covered porch without fear of catching the house on fire. I have not had the trouble as some say of not enough heat. It heats up well to over 600 deg. I have noticed that if I use it under my porch and the ceiling fan is on, the temp only reaches 400-500 deg, but turn the ceiling fan off and it resumes back to over 600 deg. It sears meat well. This grill makes grilling much more easy and enjoyable.

I'm taking this grill back. We've had it for two weeks. It was so awesome, it cooked food better than I've ever had on a grill. We kept it covered and out of the rain. We used it several times. I went to grill chicken for lunch and there is rust all over the front of the grill. It still functions perfectly - but seriously, rusted after 2 weeks? I might take it back for another same model grill and just hope I got a dud the first time, because I really did like it, but if this is indicative of the typical quality of the grill, I'd say it's not worth the price.

Bought this grill about a month ago, relying heavily on reviews. We are not dissapointed. Assembly was easy, first use blew us away ! Love the fact there is open flame hitting the meat. No hot spots or cold spots. The success we've had with this grill, well, wife is starting to think I CAN cook outside (lol). Burgers, chops, steaks, chicken, all cooked up nice.

i am quite surprised at the negative comments in other reviews... put it together and fired it up.. got to 500F no problem. if you read the info, this isn't your dads 1976 grill... it's cooking very differently.. it does what is says and does it very well.
grill covers are $40 for decent one to cover your investment.. if you use it it will take care of your grill for many years..the wood chip addition is outstanding.. cooking is done with a little more patience and planning but the quality of the salmon, steaks, lobster and poultry are second to none.
read the directions people.... it's a great grill.... if you want a flame thrower then buy a 12 billion btu burner system and cook your food in micro seconds.. the service and people at the store in western hills (cincinnati) are outstanding. this is a great value for the price. a little care and it will serve you well..highly reccomend this grill if you don't require a super sized one.... there is plenty of grilling space for lots of food on this grill... you will not be disappointed. others must have mechanical issues or spiders in the burners or something... this grill rocks....
Yes, I recommend this product.

I was skeptical about the Infrared cooking but liked the idea of no direct flames to avoid dreaded flair ups. Well, I took chicken thighs with skin, rubbed olive oil and salt and pepper on them and tossed them on the grill with the BBQ mode and they came out perfect! I used a temp gauge to make sure they were at 165 degrees and they were moist beyond comparison to any other chicken I have attempted on the grill in the past. In the past, I have often over cooked the outside to make sure the inside was cooked. The Infrared made a huge difference and for our burgers also. Super moist and juicy. It's in the cleaning mode now so we will see how easy that step is but for cooking, this grill is fantastic.

Bought this grill about a week ago. Way exceeded expectations. I have used this grill for about a week. Was fully assembled by Home Depot. I'm 53 years old and this is absolutely the best grill I have ever owned. I've cooked hamburgers, steaks, chicken and bratwurst. Everything came out great! Even cooking easy clean up and maintenance makes this a great value. The steaks were probably better than any I've had in a restaurant
The only possible weak link is the emitter. I've seasoned mine and clean and oil it after each use. Should last longer. I would recommend this grill to anyone.

i got this BBQ a year ago as a Father's Day gift, and love the way it cooks. It does a great job of searing meat while still keeping it moist and tender inside. Also great for cooking fish and veggies. I also love that you can just throw wood chips directly into the infra-red bowl for a great smokey flavor. I would give this 5 stars if not for two things. The build quality is not great, as the stainless steel seems fairly thin. I haven't had any rust problems, but I would definitely invest in a good cover. Also, this grill really seems to suck down the propane. With my old grill, I'd replace the propane tank once a year. I find I'm now doing it 3 times each year. Maybe it's because this grill cooks at a higher temperature, but it's a real inconvenience.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I recently bought this grill from home depot new in the box. I took it home any realized assembiling it will be more that the promissed 30 minutes. It took more like 2 hours. I consider myself fairly handy btw. Assembly aside, this grill cooks great. Gets super hot quickly and heats evenly. I seasoned the grill with canola cooking spray. Nothing sticks, beautiful grill lines and easy clean up. I purchased wood chips which work great too. I've cooked beef, chops, burgers, salmon, veggies and shrimp so far. Everything cooks perfect. I had a regular char broil gas grill prior to this one. (fell apart after 3 years)
The stainless steel is not USA made steel and will likely rust in a few year. I do have a cover and will be happy to get 3-4 year from this grill. For the price, this grill is worth it.
Overall, I would recommend this grill to anyone. There is a lot more room then you would think from a 2 burner and since food cooks much faster, you could used this even for large parties.
Happy Grilling!!!!

I bought this grill not knowing what to expect for cooking times. I was surprised it cooked like an oven. I line the pan below the grills with foil to assist with cleanup. I sprayed the grill with pam and heated it up. After putting on the steaks the drips landed on the foil line pan instead of flairing up like it did on my old Bar-b-que. Eight to nine min. flipped the steaks and another nine min. Clean-up was wiping the grates off then taking them in to the sink and wash. Pull out the foil put clean grates back in and all done. No scrapping with wire brush or trying to burn old food off the grill. Sure taking them inside may be a bit of a pain, but I have dishes to do anyway. So far LOVE IT !!!!

This grill was assembled from scratch, and while not particularly easy, the instructions and packing were top-notch. The grill is relatively heavy but very sturdy. The end result works perfectly and delivers excellent results. The Infrared grill is superior to conventional grills in that the cooking is more uniform and even throughout, and the grill does not become intolerably dirty and hard-to-clean after use. The ignition system is instantaneous without any pops or long waits, and the shut off is equally quiet. The ceramic pan protects the burners from grease droppings, and the pan is very easy to clean after use.
In short, this is a top-notch design for a very reasonable price -- very high value.

bought this grill about a year ago. best grill i have ever owned. no flare-ups unless you grill very fatty meat. steaks, ribs, chicken all come out perfect. after preheating the gill, i spray pam on the grates before placing the food on it. easy clean-up. when done grilling i use a spray bottle with water with a wire brush, while the grill is still hot. grates come out clean. only flaw with this grill are the labels on the front panel. they came off after about a month and i have a covered patio.

The theory behind this grill makes it the best gas grill I have ever used. As good as charcoal with a lot less trouble. It's weakness is the drip pan which also serves as the source for infrared heat If you use the grill 2 or 3 times a week, you can expect the drip pan to rust through within 6 months. Try to find a replacement. Home Depot certainly won't have it. Find it on this web site. Good luck. If you can find one I expect it will be costly. Manufacturer should have thought of this and made it out of something more dependable. Without a renewable source for drip pans, this unit won't last very long.
Yes, I recommend this product.
