This pre-wired generator transfer switch provides a safe way to feed generator power to essential appliances or circuits during a power outage. It accommodates 8 to 10 household circuits, and can be used with any portable generator up to 7500 watts (continuous). Required by the National Electrical Code, a transfer switch prevents dangerous backfeeding onto utility lines. Installed like a subpanel in a basement, interior room or garage, this transfer switch will accommodate essentials like furnace, lights, refrigerator/freezer, kitchen, well pump, television, water heater, garage door opener, security system or home office. If your needs change, more breakers can be added to accommodate up to 10 circuits. If your installation is going to be inspected, this transfer switch accommodates Arc-Fault and GFCI breakers to meet the 2008 NEC. Watt meters help you balance loads to prolong generator life. Because it was designed with off-the-shelf circuit breakers you don't have to search high and low for replacements, and your installer can reconfigure the breaker combinations to suit your family's needs. Includes two 15-amp 1-pole breakers, two 20-amp 1-pole breakers, one 2-pole 20 Amp breaker and one 2-pole 30 Amp breaker. A 2-pole 60-amp main breaker must be installed in existing load center (not included). Should be installed with a 30 Amp power inlet box to ensure generator safety. Easy to use. UL Listed in USA and Canada. Made in USA.
