BUNN patented brewing system holds water at the correct temperature, creates turbulence in the filter basket to fully extract coffee flavor and brews in 3 to 4 minutes so your coffee is never over-extracted and bitter. The power of the BUNN brewing system starts with ready to brew hot water in the stainless steel tank. Water is kept at the ideal brewing temperature of approximately 200 degrees with an internal thermostat. This means that when you are ready for fresh, hot coffee, it's on its way. This is where the brewing magic happens! The unique spray head design showers water quickly and evenly on all the coffee grounds to ensure that they float and the coffee flavor is extracted from all the coffee equally and completely. I've never owned a bunn before but I see them at restaurants, and I usually like fresh restaurant coffee. I'd been using a cheap coffee maker with a glass carafe and I noticed that the coffee usually tasted acidic or burnt, or old - I can't really describe it exactly, but most of you will know what I mean. Well, the bottom heating unit on my old coffee maker (about 3 years old) was starting to rust...badly. So I knew I needed something else, b/c my wife and I drink coffee every morning, without fail. I've had coffee from thermal carafe style makers several times and it's always been smooth and very fresh. I did some research and this one (actually most of the Bunn's) got very good reviews, so I decided it was time to try one. I was not let down. Its a little different than most I've used in the past, but once you read the instructions and do it once or twice, you'll never miss a beat. Now, my coffee tastes MUCH better than in the old, bottom heated, glass (non-insulated) carafe. I'm sold. It seems to be of very sturdy construction as well. One thing to note, above I marked 5 stars for features, but as far as I can tell, it has no features, it simply makes great coffee. I gave it 5 stars simply b/c giving it only 2 for features would dilute the facts about this coffee maker: There is nothing fancy about it - its not programmable as far as I can see, so this means you'll be making it fresh every morning, which is probably what you want anyway. Also, it won't grind your beans or clean itself, but it makes one great cup of coffee and quickly. Not only that, it stays warm for a very long time. Exactly what I wanted . DCH from Houston TX

I Have had a Bunn home unit for 14 yrs and wanted a carafe that kept the coffee warm instead of buying a separate one , This maker has one that I have found that keeps the coffee warm for 3-4 hrs to enjoy instead of reheating this keeps the flavor of the coffee without a warm plate that scorches and uses more electric , The base is metal and has a new revised spray head that brings out the flavor of your favorite blend This is Bunn quality at its best easy to keep clean and good looks too! Love, love, love it! The coffee is brewed nice and hot, stays hot and doesn't "cook" after brewing. A little pricey but worth it.

I've owned several Bunn coffee makers over the years and this is by far the best Bunn coffee maker yet! Makes coffee fast & stays hot for hours without being 'cooked' by warmer plate heat. Worth every penny! Definitely five stars!

We've had bunn brewing systems for years and they keep getting better. The carafe keeps the coffee hot for several hours and it's a pleasure wait for only 3 minutes or so for my morning cup of coffee. If you use the taller bunn filters and the correct grind of coffee, there is no problem with overflow. At least we've never had the problem.

1ST- I have to say ordering with Home Depot was EXTREMELY SATISFACTORY!! My order came very quickly and was packaged VERY WELL!! I shopped around online and Home Depot had the BEST Prices on this BUNN STX! I have always used Bunn Coffee Makers because they're the VERY BEST! This is the first Bunn i own with the Carafe, all my other Bunn Makers were the Glass Pot, which are great, but i love this one better! I've had this Specialty STX for 4 months now and it has a FANTASTIC DESIGN and makes great tasting full pot of coffee in 3 minutes! Bunn Coffee Makers has lasted many years, they're worth EVERY penney. Bunn beats ANY other Brand Coffee Makers to make the difference in HOW your coffee TASTES! It really does! I've never had a bad cup of coffee with Bunn Coffee Makers!!! I 'm really enjoying my BUNN STX, This is my FAVORITE coffee maker, It's AWESOME!!!!

This is my first purchase of a Bunn brand coffee maker. At first I was a little taken back on the price and the fact that there was no programmable timer, but I could not have asked for a better coffee maker. In my opinion, its one of the best looking coffee makers. It makes 10 cups of perfect coffee in as little as 3 minutes, and its always at the perfect temperature.
Also, I couldn't believe how long it stays warm. I make coffee before I go to work in the morning and its still somewhat warm by the time I get home (about 9 hours!) I love the fact that it can still retain its temperature, without a hot plate ruining the flavor.
Definitely spend the extra dollar in this case, you will not regret the purchase!

I was leary about not have a programmable machine, or even one that didn't have an on/off button. But this Bunn makes excellent coffee, in 3 minutes---and keeps it hot for 3 hours +!!! Ultra simple---no spilling---I expect it to last a good ten years!
