Very Durable, not as brittle as I expected, a bit time-consuming to apply.

First time applying this siding. Used a framing gun with 8d nails to speed things along. Used a diamond blade on a wormdrive to make detail and angled cuts, and also had the 'recommended' blade on a chopsaw for clean butt ends. Make sure you check the Hardbacker site for detailed installation notes.
Using a respirator added another step in the cutting process which took a bit of time. The recommended blade still shot out a good amount of dust. Also, this stuff cuts slower than wood and is heavier. For the options out there though, I would definitely recommend this siding. At 5/16ths thick, it's pretty solid stuff, and I don't feel like owner neglect would compromise the house in comparison to wood siding. STUCCO is probably still the best, but is generally twice as much as this stuff, and the price for the Hardibacker is comparable to wood siding per sq/ft.
I was surprised at how long it took to throw up though, but it's worth it.
Pros: Straight, Good Shape, Great Value, High Quality, durable as heck
Cons: Difficult to Install, Heavy

These boards are great! They were so easy to install and they took the paint realy well. They gave my house the traditional look of wood with the durability of concrete. I will definately use them again if my next house requires siding.
