First of all, you take the can to the Home Depot counter and they mix in the color that you desire. They put the cap back on and you're ready to go. I was wondering how you can pick your colors but that's how it's done. Next, you prep your countertop like you would any but it does not need to be perfect. Just sand down the countertop and mask the areas you do not want to paint. I recommend you use a small roller. Since it is epoxy, that roller cannot be washed and reused again, you have to dispose it. I double coated mine and it dried reasonably fast. Anyways, it was really easy and it dried up fast. You can be a rookie at painting. As in any paint job, most of the work is done prepping and the painting part is really easy. It's been about 6 months now and when I wipe my countertops, it looks just like the day I painted it. Great product!

So far, so good.

I just painted today so I cannot say anything about the durability yet. However, I was really surprised by how strong the smell was and was unprepared with a mask. I had to open every door and window in my house and find something to cover my face with so beware of that! I just painted my kitchen and the smell of typical paint is nothing compared to this.
Anyway, it was really easy to roll on and immediately my counters looked better. I'm hoping this ends up durable. I mostly just wanted to post about the smell as a warning to others!
There are a great selection of colors to choose from and so far I would recommend this product.

Used in a rental instead of replacing countertops. Seals and looks good for the price.

No, I do not recommend this product.
I was rather aprehensive about using this product on our out dated laminate countertop. Product covered well and I waited the recomended 3 days before using. The first day we used it we found that it becomes dicolored by water spots (goes away after 2-3 hours) and gets scratched when placing the dishes on it. I now am in the process of replacing w/ new countertop. very unpleased!

Exceeded my expectations

This paint exceeded my expectations in every way. Everybody who has seen it is absolutely blown away that it is paint an not an actual countertop replacement.
It is true, when it gets wet, it does leave water spots but they go away after a few minutes. It is extremely durable so long as you don't chop vegetables on it or place a very hot item on top of it. I never did this on my laminate countertops so that's no big deal.
It is very easy to apply, but you must use a good quality foam roller and I found that you should apply it very liberally to get a nice even finish. If you are worried about little nicks, etc. I would get a lighter color tint. I got dark brown and although it looks nice, it shows the dirt which I don't mind as that tells me the counter needs cleaning!
In the end, I was skeptical that I could redo my countertops for about $30 but it worked. The great thing is that if you get tired of it, you can repaint it another color.

No, I do not recommend this product.
The countertop paint was very easy to apply, which was good, and the price was right.
The downside is that it scratches easily and waterstains very quickly.
If you're looking for a quick fix, this is it, but expect to have to repaint every month or so...
