Big Combination Sump Pump System
The Basement Watchdog Big 1/2 HP Combination Sump Pump System is designed to provide both primary and battery-backup pump capabilities. The primary system pumps 4,400 GPH at 0 ft. of lift and 3,200 GPH at 10 ft. of lift, and the backup system pumps 2,500 GPH at 0 ft. of lift and 1,730 GPH at 10 ft. of lift. The primary pump will operate as long as it is receiving AC power. If power is interrupted or if more water is coming into the sump than the AC pump can handle, the backup pump will begin pumping automatically.

I am a mid-level do-it-yourselfer and I had no issues installing this as a replacement system. Note that the deep cycle battery and acid are separate purchases.

I just installed this pump. Very easy. It took less than 30 minutes and the directions are great. Home Depot has an excellent price. I will write another eval after it has been in operation for awhile.

I was somewhat leery about attempting to do this installation but as soon as I opened the box and saw the detailed unpacking and setup instructions, I knew it would be easy and as it turned out it was. I was very much impressed with the detail that went into the instructions and the quality of the overall backup pump system itself.

I researched about 15 pumps including something called a 'stevens pump', spoke to about 10 plumbers, and ultimately landed up on this one.
I checked the power of the battery operated pump, and it was as good as my original 1/3 HP pump. All I can say is look no further, do not waste money or energy on other pumps. Very easy to install, and forget the primary, the back up pump pushes water above 12 feet.

Rec'd price quotes from contractors to provide and install a similar system. Cost ranged from $3k-$5K. This pump has it all and does everything. Backup float, backup pump, backup power, etc. Great product and an excellent value. Easy to install.

I moved into a new home that had a standard sump pump with no backup at all. Our pump runs once every 1 - 2 hours when it's been wet out. Dry spells no need but knowing we have this system in with the backup system on a battery gives us ease of mind. Now we go away for several days and if we hear it's raining back home we don't worry about a thing. I've recommend this to our neighbors as they've lost power and paid the price...no worries here as we have 8 hours of backup time. Plus...it came pretty much fully assembled and only needed a little work to get it setup. I did it in about an two hours as I upgraded my cover for our sump pump as well which took some customization.

I got this pump about a month ago. Works great so far. Very quiet and has no issues lifting the water the 10' rise that I have. Very nice unit, easy to set up. Even comes with a rubber coupling! The only thing you need is a battery.

Instructions were very easy to understand. Installation took about an 30 minutes. Primary pump is very quiet and seems to move a lot of water. Tested the backup pump and it worked as expected, had no problem pumping the water out. Very well made product. Definitely worth it for the piece of mind.
