DIF 32 oz. Ready-To-Use Gel Spray Wallpaper Remover (6-Pack)

The Zinsser DIF 32 oz. Ready-To-Use Gel Spray Wallpaper Remover (6-Pack) features a non-toxic, powerful, enzyme-based formula that effectively removes most paper. The non-drip gel penetrates and loosens wallpaper making it easy to pull or scrape off the surface.

My daughter (12) and I used DIF to take the wallpaper off her room.
It took about twice as much as the bottle says, but in the end did the job beautifully.
Here are a few things we learned:
1) Score the wallpaper thoroughly with a scoring tool. Run your hand across the wallpaper and if you feel a smooth spot, score some more. You only need to press hard enough to go through the top laye of the paper. If you press too hard you'll puncture the paper on the wallboard and you'll have to repair that if you're going to paint.
2) The success of the DIF depended on having done a good job of laying down a nice, solid coat of wallpaper primer. In areas that were not well primed we had more trouble and really had to scrape.
3) Don't let the DIF stay on too long or it will start to dry out and the wallpaper glue will begin to harden again. We found 25 - 30 minutes to be just about perfect.
4) Once you've got a strip of wallpaper off go over the area IMMEDIATELY with a wet sponge several times to get the remaining wallpaper glue and residual DIF off. If you let it get dry you'll have to use some elbow greatse to get it off.
5) We found it best to spray about 2 strips of wallpaper, wait 20 minutes. Spray the 3rd strip, then come back and peel the first strip, wash the wall, and spray the 4th strip, peel the 2nd strip, etc.
6) When you're peeling the paper, if the wallpaper backing starts to stick to the wall and separate from the wallpaper, stick the strip of wallpaper back on the wall, spray the front of the wallpaper in the area that was sticking, and wait 5 minutes. Doing this we got entire strips of wallpaper to separate from the wall with no scraping. SO much easier!
Yes, I recommend this product.

I didn't need it to actually remove the wallpaper, so I can't rate based on how well it does that. The wallpaper had been up for at least 20 years and was already starting to lift in areas, so peeling it off the wall was no problem at all.
The glue it left behind, was the problem. I was recommended this product by one of the Home Depot employees, and gave it a shot. After spraying the wall with this product, the glue wiped off quickly and easily. Still messy though, so I'd recommend having something on the floor for drips.
Yes, I recommend this product.
