I have 2 of these. One of them is fine after several years of use. The other is completely useless. I had purchased 2 because they were on sale, and the first one was amazing. I went back the same day purchased the second one and stacked it in my closet for future use. I finally took out the other one and used it for 2 months and I used it everyday and the bottom of the canister would not close. The body was not constructed properly on this one and during use the bottom flaps open and all the lint, hair, dust goes flying on the floor. I called dyson several times and got nowhere with customer service because they said it was past warranty. I explained I had 2 and I had not used this one for long etc, but they were so uncooperative. Did not even tell me how I could get it fixed etc. I am in the market to maybe buy a digital slim but the only thing that makes me weary is the fact that dyson customer support is horrible. Its been 2 years since I contacted them about the second unit that does not work, but remembering the whole ordeal is making me upset all over again. So, the first one works still just fine. Maybe I just got a lemon with the second one.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Best hand vac, worth paying more for. Ordered online and customer serviced checked stock to let me know this really was in stock during a time when it was not in stock at other online sellers.

This is a very nice compact tool, it is more pwerful then anything I have used that is cordless however wished it did have a longer battery use. Seems you have to recharge a little to often.

I love this hand vac! Great for mini blinds, quick clean ups, and much more. I haven't found a Dyson product yet that I have not loved.

This products exceeds my expectations and I would highly endorse this product. Very powerful and very very light to handle. I love not having to use bags and the added cost

Well, I have owned a Dyson vacuum for years and it's the best I've ever used, so when I saw the Hand Vac I knew I had to try it. I've not been disappointed. The suction is great, it's lightweight and easy to care for. The quick charge is a bonus as well. My friends are lining up to get one too!

The DC31 is an obviously well made portable vacuum. On the plus side, its spinning collection system does not clog and dumping the trash it as easy as opening a trap door on the bottom. People have complained about battery life and it is quite short, but that is not what bothered me. I had expected ia $200 portable vac to have greater suction and to really suck up junk in my automobile cup holders. It only partially succeeds with this. An improved model should have a larger battery and more powerful motor.
