The fan has nothing fancy but is fine for kids room or guest room, easy to install too note fan has only one light socket so only 1 bulb can be installed but for this price I don't care about that, I installed a CREE LED 9 Watt daylight bulb (also for sale at home depot $13.99) and looks very nice check the pictures,

I was looking for some inexpensive hugger fans for the bedroom and living room of my small ocean front house. These have a great price, and easy to install. The fans are very quiet and work fine, however they speeds are a little slow. On high speed, it is like most fans on medium. Still, they move the air around and create a nice air flow. So far, very satisfied with this purchase. Plus I bought two and qualified for the free shipping, which was a real plus when shipping to Puerto Rico.

I don't know what to say, other than if you need a cheap fan that's quiet, moves air like it should, neutral color, goes up in 15min or less, THIS IS IT! Had been on back order forever, jumped to buy two of them when they came back in stock, man was this a DEAL! Office & Guest bedroom, 11x11 area's, medium is as high as the fan needs to be on! Great product, great quality, GREAT VALUE!

Purchased this to replace an older style fan that was making noise. This one looks clean, modern and bright. Not that difficult to assemble and install. Wish it had room for two bulbs in the light kit, though. With only one, the room isn't as lit up as it was with the old 4-light fan.

I have just finished installing my first of two of these fans in secondary bedrooms in our house.
Because I am 6'5" and the rooms have 8' ceilings, I needed very low profile fans to avoid hitting my head on them. Since they replaced the main overhead light in these rooms, an integrated light was also required. This fan was the perfect solution, and also a great value at less than half the price of any other option.
Installation was easy and straight-forward, the instructions were easy to understand (this was my first ceiling fan installation), and the fan operates perfectly at all speeds in both directions with no noticable noise and no balancing required (though a balancing kit is included).
My only complaint is that it only holds a single 60w bulb, which was simply not enough light for our rooms. Fortunately there was enough space under the dome to add a twin lampholder adapter (which was available at my local home depot) and two low-profile 13w CFL bulbs.
Pros: Looks Great, Good Size & Weight, Nice Design
Cons: poor light

I purchased three of these for my basement remodel. Two out of the three motors make "swishing" sound when running. Sounds like sewing machine running. Not good for a bedroom space. Keep me up all night! Light kit appears crooked on one of them. Very unhappy with performance after spending the time to install them and this happens. Returned one, thinking about returning the other one.

I read reviews, purchased two for bedrooms.
Installed one by myself, the second my 16yr old son was 'helping hands'
My suggestion: take time with the wiring. It's not difficult at all, just make sure the wires are connected correctly & tucked up an away from motor. It can be very frustrating to have to remove fan blades & flush mount cover to have to check wires.
I love my fans.
As others said, the overhead light is 'soft'. I have other lighting in my rooms & rarely used overhead light so for me this is a non-issue.
Very, very quiet.

I bought two fans. Wow, the rooms are so much cooler now! The fans look sleek and are silent at all speeds.
I only have two small issues:
First, it only holds a single bulb, so about 1/3 of the room is dimmer. Two apposing bulbs would have been a better design. On the bright side (get it?) it holds a standard bulb, in fact, my huge 100 watt equivalent CFL fits in there!. Having the brighter bulb helps to reduce the dim issue.
The other issue is that the who fan rocks back and forth when you pull the on/off cords. That makes it feel a little cheap.

It's everything you could ask for in a fan. My old fan of thirty or so years finally died, so I needed a replacement. I bought this one and had it installed in a very short period of time with no unexpected difficulties. It moves a good volume of air and is quiet and very stable. I can't ask for more.

Bought to replace an older fan. This one went up ok and while not the absolute best quality, is a great value. Added a remote control to operate it and it was still much less than the cost of an equivalent fan with a remote. Seems to be decently quiet. Would buy another at this price for sure.

We wanted a fan that was mounted high enough that no-one would hit it, yet not have to spend too much money. This one has been great. Installed better than a previous one that my son had done... no wobble or noise.

I'm a woman in my 60's, just learning electrical. put up 2 in my living room, & did have to get some advice. just bought 2 more for bedrooms. Love them. time consuming to put up blades.

I ordered two of these to replace older, smaller fans in my kid's rooms. These are much quieter, and have no wobble. They have only been in place for about two weeks, but so far so good.
Installation was very easy, but I have done this many times. It was about 30-45 minutes per fan, and that was including time to take the old fans down and disconnect everything.
The only complaint at this point is that there is only one bulb receptacle in the light unit. Two would have made the room brighter. It is acceptable for a bedroom though.

Cons: light kit only has one bulb possible

I bought two of these fans for two bedrooms originally, and just bought a third for the last bedroom. I really like the way the fans look and didn't have to use the fan balancing kit on any of them. They are easy to assemble, are relatively quiet (they have a slight hum when the fan's on), and are definitely worth the price. There are two drawbacks I found which include the lack of light due to having only one bulb, and I didn't like the way the pull chains pull through the canopy (The canopy has a ring that supports the glass bowl, and its the ring that has the holes in it, which the chain goes through). The lack of light is not a big deal since the master bedroom has can lighting, and the other two bedrooms are smaller. As for the way the chains pull through the canopy, I used 3 speed switches for the fans and single pole switches for the lights and just cut off the chains, since I didn't need them anyway. Without the chains, the fans look a lot cleaner.
Pros: Easy to Assemble, Functional, Well Made, High Quality of Material, Looks Great, Nice Design, decent price
Cons: only one bulb so not very bright, the location of the pull chains.

I did my homework on this purchase....The price from Home Depot was the lowest found, local and on the internet. This was not my first Hampton Bay product purchase, so I knew the quality was there. This fan was super easy to install, takes (1) Energy eff bulb, that provides more than enough lighting. It was installed in my sons bedroom (He actually installed it) that is approx. 12' x 12' and provides more than enough circulation to keep the room cool. The three speed reversable feature should be standard for all fans, but it is not-This fan DID NOT DISAPPOINT at all!
If you are looking for a modern looking fan, that cools and allows you to keep a few dollars in your bank account, then this is the fan to purchase.
***The ONLY Con to this purchase is with the pull chains: The drilled holes are located fine, but chains are difficult to use as they are coming from the fan, through a housing in the light kit and are on somewhat on a slant. They seem to get caught on edges of the drilled area.

I guess I should've known what kind of ceiling fan you can get for $29. My mistake...don't make the same one. From the moment it was turned on, this fan started making a ton of noise. Not because it was uneven or installed incorrectly. The motor itself makes a clicking noise as the fan spins. As you can guess, the faster it spins, the more noise it makes. Not a great combo for a fan.
Cons: Noisy
