I purchased 4 of these fans for my home. All were very easy to install. These fans look great and you can't hear the fan when it's on. I recommend this product for any DIYer.

I've installed my fair share of ceiling fans, and this was the easiest one I've ever put up; I think it took maybe 35 minutes to install from the time I unpacked it to turning the breaker back on. Home Depot/Hampton Bay should probably look at updating their instructions, though - there was no J-shaped hook to hang the light kit from, it was more like a slot to put it through. It didn't bother me because I knew what to look for (and quite frankly, I didn't fool with the directions except to make sure everything was included... I'm familiar with the wiring and how everything fits together, thank you). But if this is your first time, don't freak out if there's no hook. It's not an exceptionally PRETTY ceiling fan (it was going in a guest room), but it's attractive and powerful and low profile, which is what I wanted. The price was a steal! Overall, I'd recommend it.

This fan is the right size and the right price. It was easy to install for a DIY, it has a great manafacture warranty. I would have rated it higher if not for the low light output through the frosted light. Maybe if i used a bulb other than the one it came with. I would buy another one if the opportunity arose for another fan in a bedroom.

For the novice installer that I am, this was a more challenging fan for me to put up. I was able to do it, but it took a while. But since getting it up and running, it has been great and I love it.

I bought 2 of these fans to replace older fans in bedrooms. They look great, and the light is amazing for a 12x12 room. They are really whisper quiet and steady. Obviously they are not the fanciest or highest in quality, but I wasn't expecting they would be for this price. But overall, I do believe they exceeded my expectations in appearance and functionality.

Very quiet, providing you do the installation correctly. The only drawback with this item is, it is very difficult to find in a number of HD stores , you might be better off purchasing it ( at least two to qualify for free shipping ) online and have the same delivered.

The price can't be beat for this model but it has some motor hum compared to higher end from the same manufacturer. Kind of plain style good for guest bedroom or playroom. One light bulb in it is not bright enough for a xlarge room.

It is a well design fan. The install is pretty easy. There is a bar which you install first to the break out box. The fan just hang on the side of the installed bar for hooking up the wire. You don't need to hold the fan while connecting wires. It also comes with extra screws which make it pretty handy when one of screws got lost. I did lost a screw while installing. The instructions are clear. The fan blade are well balance and does not need to be adjusted afterward. All metal to metal gaps are cushioned with rubber sheet to reduce the fan noise. It does have a very little humming sound in low speed. Actually, it in high speed too, except the wind sound will cover the humming sound. However, I think most of the fan motors will make humming noise anyway.

Easy install except that the instructions say that there should be a hook when you 'hang' the fan to do the wiring. That hook is in reference to another Hampton Bay fan. You just angle the hanger bar and it is designed to hang on the mounting bracket without the hook. The fan runs smooth and quiet. Light is bright enough. I'm very happy with it.

I was looking for a low profile fan with a simple, sleek look. This fan is exactly that. I hate the light fixtures that hang so low. I didn't have much overhead clearance to work with, so this fit my needs. My brother (an electrician) installed it for me in less than 30 mins. Only con I found was that with only one light socket, most of the light is shining on only part of the room, other part seems darker. But, hey, I only paid $35 - $40 for this fan. Lol.
