Wall-Mount Outdoor Bronze Metal-Halide Wall Pack Light
The Lithonia Lighting Wall-Mount Outdoor Metal-Halide Wall Pack Light has a weather-resistant die-cast aluminum housing and a dusk-to-dawn photocell for automated energy savings. One 50-watt metal-halide bulb (included) provides light output approximately equal to 240-watts of incandescent light. The polycarbonate lens refracts the light and is UV-stabilized to prevent yellowing.

Installed light fixture yesterday, light flickers, comes on, goes off, flickers, comes on, goes off, you get the picture...Poor quality! Don't waste your money!

The bulb does not last anywhere near 5,000 hours. 5,000 hours is short to begin with. These units have very faulty photocell sensors. I bought mine in July and the bulb went out in November. Fortunately Home Depot had a sale on whole fixtures with bulb for less than the cost of a spare bulb. I bought two whole units as expected near future replacements. It's disappointing how inferior Lithonia Lighting products are. Lithonia customer service seems reluctant to assist with warranty claims. I wish Home Depot offered more alternatives from different brands.

Purchased this light 10 months ago. Work great until recently and now will not light. Local store quit handling the light and based on other information it is common for the light to fail in less than 1 year. Too expensive for no longer than it last.

I bought six of these for my house and my in-laws. The amber version lasts longer but the light is on all the time. The white light version last about three to six months. I contacted the company and they sent me some free replacements. The replacements didn't last any longer. These lights are great if you only need them to work for a couple of months.
Cons: worthless

The fixture is rated for 5000 hours, and it will give fantastic white light for about a year before the ballast and/or bulb go bad. It is a very attractive fixture, but it simply doesn't last. Most HID bulbs are rated for 20000 hours (about 5 years), so the problem is likely with the cheap ballast.

Guess I was lucky. Lasted about 2 years before it failed. Replaced bulb but that wasn't the problem. Photocell seems to works (can hear it switch), and ballast hums. Only other part is the ignitor. For the money, you'd expect better.

These lights last about 6 months. This is the 5th time we have had to replace this model. If you like climbing up and down ladders then buy this light. Everyone we purchased (5) has been defective.

I'm sure this product is absolutely wonderful when working properly. The light is incredibly bright. However, I have two installed and have experienced recurrent sensor and bulb failure with both of them. There is one on the side of the house that stays on until noon with a bright sun with no overcast, and then turns itself on 3 to 4 hours later...the other is on the front of the house and had to be replaced twice due to sensor failure and going through four bulbs @ 30 dollars apiece. In all fairness to the product, there is a tree in front of the house, but that never bothered the preceding sensor lights before it...there is plenty of light to shut the unit off. The Halide units replaced Sodium Lights that used to be there...I never had the problem with the Sodium Lights and they were in place for at least fifteen years. The Sodium Lights had always worked properly with the dusk to dawn sensor. There is no way to adjust the sensor, according to the person who represented the manufacturer. The sensor is built-in the unit...unless one wanted to buy a different sensor and attach it via wire to outside of the unit...but that would add more cost and would not be that cosmetically pleasing. I have had multiple problems with the Halide light within the past year. I will go ahead and recommend with stipulation...have the light installed in completely large and wide open areas (totally unshaded) aimed at or nearly aimed in the sun's direction. In my personal experience, the sensors on the Halide Light are most sensitive and require a lot of light during the day to remain off.

I really tried to get these to work. First set, one would finally light up and then as soon as it got going, it would go off. on off on off all night long, only burning for about 10 seconds, then waiting about 2 minutes. Second set, it would never go off and gets incredibly hot. Both units now are not working right. I give up!
Cons: nonfunctional, unreliable

it is a good light source but the bulbs don't last but 6 months and they cost $25.00 ea. i took mine down and threw them in the trash and got florescent lights. good fixture but the bulb needs improvement so it will last longer or it needs to cost less.

I have owned 2 of these. The first one lasted about a year and the sensor went out. the second lasted 5 months and the Ballast went bad. I love the light. Looks nice and when performing, it is great. Was able to return both for an exchange.

After seeing several of these on a friend's house, I had to try one. His have been up about 2 years, I have had mine about a year and a half. No issues so far.
I will be buying more. Only downfall, is the $80 price tag.
Pros: Functional, Well Made, Looks Great, Very Bright
Cons: a little high prices.

I bought one of these for our shop. About a year after it was installed the bulb began to flicker. Figured the bulb was out so I went to Home Depot to get a replacement. Bought a 50watt Metal Halide bulb for 30 bucks...took it home and installed....next day the bulb didn't work. Figured bad bulb. Went back to Home Depot and checked the light fixture package again to be sure I got the right bulb....package said 50watt Metal Halide. But, inside the fixture it said it took a 70 watt high pressure sodium bulb. Just installed new bulb...we will see how it works......

I have used first the mercury than the sodium but none have came close to the white light given by this lamp. It is like day light. After I saw the quality of light from the ficture I installed in the back of my house I had to buy this for the front of my house.

The bright white light for 50watts is great, but the fixture doesn't last very long, either the sensor, ballast or bulb fails way too soon. Mine almost lasted a year. Trying to get manufacturer warranty service now.

Unit is constructed well, has an aluminum back frame. Housing is stylish, looks good. Components are of commercial quality. Was amazed by how much light it produces, lights all of my back yard. I have had high pressure sodium and florescent units before, this beats them hands down.

I put 6 of these on a commercial building I have in Florida. At 6 months I have already replaced 3 of them. The quality of manufacturer is just not there. It it was I'd give them 5 stars for their white light, price and relative ease of install. I'm so disappointed that I must switch lights to a different brand/model.

The light is bright and only uses 50 watts. Metal halide is good for color rendention with security cameras.
You must drill out "knockout" and attachment holes. I bent the tab that houses the knockout hole, because it doesn't knockout.
