1 - Well built with good materials.
2 - Not difficult to install, you will need at least two persons.
3 - Price seemed to be a little high, but could not find many other local sources for a metal stair attic ladder.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I did a lot of research online for attic stairs, looking for the strongest, most energy efficient and having the largest opening, along with reasonable cost that would fit my needs. It was to be installed in the space where an old attic fan was being removed. My contractor had no problem installing the unit and adjusting the ladder for my ceiling height. I also like the opener/locking mechanism, as it seems to hold the door very tight. Since installation, I have been very happy with the ease of climbing the stairs and don't feel any movement or shakiness. I'm very happy with my choice.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This access door is a great product. It was easy to install and is easy to adjust upon installation. Having woked in the comercial and industrial HVAC bussiness for 15 years i have encountered some pretty bad access doors. I was looking for a access door that had the wider demensions, a metal ladder and an insultated door. This door has all of these features and is a very well built product. My father in-law helped with the install (you will need help lifting it in place unless you have a material jack of some sort) and commented that he will be getting this door for his actic access on his new house that he is building. In short this is a great product and is very well built.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Sturdy, stable, and when trimmed out, attractive. This was installed in a home under construction and the trades and crafts people gave it one heck of a workout moving into the attic for storage, access, and installations. They all loved it and said so; wanted to know about costs and where I got it , so the "amateur" owner doesn't need to add any other comments here about it

By following the instructions, and with a little help from someone below you in the garage to push a little on the cover, it went well. Make sure you use the long pieces of wood as shown in the diagram along with some real thin strapping to tie at each corner as shown. I used the packing strapping that came with the door box for this use, it worked great. Once I had the opening set/cut, I brought the door up into the attic, set it in the frame opening using the long pieces of wood to hold it in place. (Make sure you bring your tools up with you, hammer, nails, saw, etc. unless you have another way to get in/out of the attic...once you are up there you are stuck until you have the door initially installed. PS....don't do it on a hot day!) Next I used the wooden "door stop" type pieces of wood to adjust the door for level on all sides. If I needed the person below me to push up at one location or another to assist me I just told them where to push up. I then (after it was leveled) nailed each side into the frame lumber. I was the able to open the door up and shim up the door where needed. I then went a step further and installed 2 large screw type anchor bolts on each side and 1 on each end. It is not coming loose or falling out! I had to cut off about 2 steps. This was easy with a sazall. I just followed the instructions in the folder. Finally I adjusted the ladder itself outward as directed in the paperwork. I found that the steps actually act as handholds as you are walking up the ladder. The final result is excellent,....what a difference between the 22" and the 30" opening,....I can now go into and out of the attic with large objects with no problems. Fantastic and good quality product.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I needed something to move a new furnace into the attic and this perfectly fit the job. It should be noted that while the rough opening is 30", the inside width of the frame is 28", so nothing wider than that will go through. Furthermore, it gets narrower near the top of the stairs, with the space between the springs and various brackets shrinking to around 25". I only needed 24.5", so this worked out just fine.
Besides reframing the opening, the installation was a breeze. Two people are indeed recommended for lifting it into place, but it can be done with 1 strong person if you know what you're doing. Overall, this door is way better than the aluminum Werner ladder I had before. I especially like the gasket that keeps it air tight when closed and the 1.5" solid piece of wood this stuff is attached to.
Keep in mind that it doesn't have a string to pull down on and instead opens/closes using a lock that must be manipulated using a 4' metal pole.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Needed a heavy duty attic stairway for HVAC guys to replace a HVAC system in the attic of an existing home and one that was air tight & insulated. This unit more than met the need and is an excellent product.
