great machine
Great machine only used it once on a four inch storm. I gotta say that I love the tracton control feature that best. Very easy to steer and turning, no effort needed. Heated hand grips kept my hands warm that day. Solid steel all a round. Cast iron gear box with a 5 year warranty. Quality made snowblower and still made in the good old USA..
Yes, I recommend this product.

my Ariens Platinum 24" after action photo
Took delivery about two months ago and have been biting at the bit for snow. 12/29 (yesterday) we received a 12" snowstorm and I started my new Ariens Platinum 24" right up w/one easy pull. It worked flawlessly and never got bogged down..even down where the road meets the driveway. Threw the snow 30 feet high and 50 feet out and blew through the 12" of snow without a hiccup. Best purchase I ever made and glad I did enough research to know that Ariens is THE BEST!!. 5 Stars.
Pros: Easy to Use, Sturdy, Good Size & Weight, Durable, Powerful, Great Engine, Light Weight
Yes, I recommend this product.

WOW !! A Blizzard has been the first snowfall for my new ariens snowblower. No better test for any type of snow removal equipment than a nasty 1.5 ft wind driven snowfall. After checking all items on my start up list the unit started manually with no problem on the first pull . The amount of power this unit has made quick work of the deepest snow drift and made clearing the mouth of my driveway easier than its ever been. It throws snow as advertised {50 feet}. The heated handles kept my hands warm during the entire time I was working. A beast of a machine and pleasure to use under the most adverse conditions.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Dec 20, 10+ inches of Heavy, Wet snow. Compacting the snow below it into "hard pack"- just from the weight above. Needless to say, the snow did not get blown very far (7-12ft depending on Gusts) and you end up having to blow, "blown snow", which only compounded the density situation.
My new Ariens 24" Platinum snow thrower chewed through it. without issue. My Dads 20+ year old behemoth Cub Cadet Tract model has convincingly lost its postion as the most powerful efficient snow throwing machine in the extended family. LOL, He actually gave up and went in the house, disgusted, when his machine kept climbing, while the Ariens chewed.
My recently demised John Deere TRS26 snow thrower was an impressive machine. This Ariens makes me wonder why I stayed "Green" for so long.
NOTE: I mention 7-12ft of blowing distance. This was in 30+mph sustained, swirling winds. The snow chute was aimed low, to keep from being a human ice column. If I had aimed the chute high, they'd be reporting snow in Arkansas.
RIght after the discovery of snow packed Iceman.
Pros: Easy to Use, Sturdy, Great Engine
Yes, I recommend this product.

Bought this in December 2012. A local re-seller delivered it as promised and took the time to show me all the features and do a quick start-up. Finally got 1st chance to use it in the 'Blizzard of 2013' here in Boston area. Had 2+ feet of snow. The signage on the machine for starting were fine except for the fuel line. I stupidly struggled for over 10 min's until I realized it was in the off position. Their 1-2-3 signage should be 1-2-3-4 and step #1 should be: open the fuel line.
Once started, it ran great, more than adequate power. We have a 75' driveway so used it for that mostly 1st day. No complaints - everything as advertised. Later that night I tried to mow a path for my dog over the back yard. Light was nice and bright. Unfortunately I got no traction - the rubber wheels just kept spinning. If I'd known, I might have sprung more $ for the tractor tires. So if mowing over a lawn is a requirement, that's what I'd suggest.
One HUGE complaint is the design of the chute turner. I am specifically referring to the 'Quick Turn Chute Control'. I've since re-read the manual and it's possible I need to adjust it, but based on my 1st experience, It's virtually useless. Maybe I'm trying to use it incorrectly, but there's no guidance anywhere on how to actually use it. I mostly resorted to trying to turn the chute by hand. I got it to work that way maybe 25% of the time on the first go. The rest of the time I had to keep playing with the handle. Very frustrating!
Only other defect - and this also might have been due to the Arian re-seller not doing a thorough job putting the thing together - was the adjustment for the clutch/brake. It's a long thin nut - maybe 2" long, very thin. It kept coming loose, perhaps from the vibrations. I see in the manual there's a nut at the bottom so maybe tightening that will help. In any case, when that nut gets too loose, the impeller doesn't engage. Once I figured that out, whenever it happened again I immediately knew what to fix - only takes 10 seconds. I started keeping an eye on that nut after that. So not a big deal and as I say, there might be a way to fix it once-and-for-all. If I can find a similar fix to the Quick Turn Chute mechanism, then I'd almost give this blower 5 stars, since everything else works great.
Pros: Easy to Use, Sturdy, Good Size & Weight, Durable, Easy to Store, reliable starter

The Ariens platinum series appears to be a well built snowblower with a lot of features, however we received it in early October 2012 and until we get snow we will not really know how it performs. All things appear to work well when trying it in dry (no snow) conditions, but will not be sure until we get our first substantial snow which may not be until year's end.

This Platinum Series 24" blower is perfect for rough uneven surfaces. Light weight and easy to use even on heavy snow fall (3 ft) days. The "White Glove" service did not come with delivery in my area so, assembly took me about two hours. Great product for the money!

From the moment the machine was delivered I knew that iI had made the right choice. The driver went through everything in great detail. No question was to small to ask because I never owned a snow blower before. The machine came fully assembled ,ready to go.This is a quailty built machine that has lots of extra power.I didn't want plastic parts that wouldn't last.So I'll enjoy throwing snow for next 20 years.

Home Depot were great and they helped me order this model online. Consumer service couldn't have been better. I just got it on the 23th of December. A xmas gift to myself. Well we haven't got any snow yet so don't know how good it will work but I have used Ariens blowers before and they were great power and blows the snow far. I like the fact of all metal and not plastic like some other brands. I love the quick chute rotations handle that's allsome.. Ariens is number one snowblower on the planet. Can't beat the warranties either.. Thanks Ariens for making such a great machine..

This is a very impressive machine. I wanted all the bells and whistles, but also wanted a machine narrow enough to do sidewalks as well as the driveway. This fits the bill. The assembly instructions are not the clearest, but a little thought takes care of the rough spots. Machine starts easily and runs very well. Most impressive is how well it handles. Before I actually ran it I had some trepidation as it certainly is a big, heavy piece of equipment, but a quick run put those fears to rest. Now I can't wait for a real blizzard!

My Ariens Deluxe Platinum 24" snowblower from Home Depot arrived on time and completely assembled. There was a demonstration on operating the unit and all questions I had were answered in detail. This unit was chosen after a several month selection process. I have no doubt this unit will exceed all of my expectations and perform in any and all snow conditions. Additional reviews will follow after the arrival of those first flakes. Think Snow !!!!
