I bought some 5" Halo fixtures and used the eye-ball trim kit.
Standard bulbs and CFL's are too long for the eye-ball trim kit.
These are the only option for the eye-ball kit and they fit perfectly and fit flush with the eye-ball kit.
The light itself has a flat diffuser and I wonder if it could have been done with a more rounded front. It would have helped the esthetics, but maybe it's a limitation because it is a halogen bulb within another bulb.
These bulbs and fixtures are used to accent light a brick wall and fireplace in the family room and they do a nice job at that. I will need to install a dimmer though as I was originally looking for a 50 watt bulb.
Cons:
They are kind of pricey, but the PAR40 Halogena bulbs I have upstairs in the house have lasted 8+ years, so I'm hoping the same for these or more since they would be dimmed some.
They draw more electricity than CFL (which are awful) and LED (Too expensive for short LED's), but I guess it is what it is.
Pros: Compact, Great Dimming, Very Bright
Cons: price, lifespan

This was a very elusive bulb to find. I was excited that the Home Depot had it in stock and could ship it right to my door.

What can you say about a light bulb really? It shines, and they weren't too dififficult to install which satistifed me.
