Love everything about this little tool, lightweight, super easy to use, auto feed, trigger start, etc. HOWEVER, the only thing is the battery. I only get 10-15 minutes from it, but because of the ease in rolling along the edge of the sidewalk (and not stopping all the time to fix the reel) I actually get more done than with my gas edger in the same time. Just wish the battery really lasted 45 minutes like they say. This does do better than I thought, but it is not a heavy duty tool. If you need power for tough places, this is not it!! You may need a gas powered tool. Overall I love it, but you have to know your space.

I bought this trimmer because I wanted something light and easy to use. My gas trimmer shakes my hands until they are numb and shreds my wooden fence. I have a medium sized yard with a lot of edging. I get two full uses before I need to recharge the battery. On the battery, you can push a button to see how much life is left which is very nice. I am 6 ft 3 and I don't have to hunch over to use the trimmer. It is light, powerful, and comfortable to hold. Great buy. I love it.

Battery life was great!! This is my first trimmer/edger (never used one before). It was very easy to use and did the job. Love that it is battery powered and I don't have to deal with gas and oil and maintenance. Very happy with my purchase.

Got this GreenWorks 20V string trimmer with the GreenWorks leaf blower and hedge trimmer (makes a great set), to replace old gas and battery powered lawn equipment. What sold me is that the GreenWorks lithium-ion battery is 6Ah! (Other competitors are 1.5Ah.) This makes the run-time exceptional! For example, I did over 30min of edging/trimming, 15min of hedge trimming on a thick holly bush, and another 15min of leaf blowing; all with the same battery and it still had over 25% charge left! On another day, I did 1.5hrs of hedge trimming, and the battery finally went dead. (But I was worn out too...) Still needed to do some grass trimming that day, so I charged the battery for 30min while mowing, and got enough charge to edge for 15min.
To get a full charge, you need about 4hrs and the lithium-ion battery technology will hold that charge for literally months until you need it. Plus, the power doesn't taper-off until the battery is just seconds away from being fully depleted. (This is nothing like that old Ni-Cad battery technology.) Folks, this battery is simply amazing and an absolute must-have! (I've also seen that this battery is shared with a Troy-Bilt trimmer that doesn't have a swivel head.)
The GreenWorks string trimmer is versatile (with a swivel head and guide wheel), easy to use, and powerful. (It is not quite as powerful as gas, but close; and much better than other battery powered trimmers. In fact, I prefer this level of power as it is easier to control / trim cleanly, and I don't accidentally tear-up my yard with it.)
I've used this trimmer and GreenWorks "set" all summer. My neighbors call me a yard-nut as I mow & trim my yard twice a week and try to keep it immaculate. This is the only equipment set that I've found to really deliver the goods and keep up with my yard maintenance routine. For instance, I'm able to get more done in less time with the GreenWorks set. Plus, I greatly appreciate the low noise level and no gas exhast that comes with going battery powered.
I'll also add that I shopped everywhere and happened to find the best deal from HomeDepot.com online for the complete GreenWorks 20V set (not in stores), and they hooked me up with a small discount at the time of purchase. There's comfort here in that if I ever have a problem, I can go to my local store to make a return. Delivery was in about a week. I'm not a loyalist, but way to go HomeDepot!

This thing is excellent for a rechargeable string trimmer. The battery is more than sufficient for trimming my 1/4 acre yard. The trimmer doesn't have as much power as a gas or corded trimmer but it gets the job done. I use the battery for my greenworks blower and hedge trimmer too. It easily gets the job done for all 3 tools each week.
I did have a problem with the battery on arrival. The battery would only charge to 16V and the LED charge indicator wasn't working. Home Depot just sent me a new battery and I'm in business. I read another review where someone else had the same problem so beware. Still very satisfied with the purchase.

I wasnt sure if this was a good idea or not but I tried it anyway. I just got tired of the gas weed trimmer always needing something done to it or if it would start everytime. I have a fairly large yard and the battery on the new trimmer lasts long enough to do most of it. Then I put it on charge and do other things outside untill it has enough charge to finish. The battery level indicator on the battery was a good idea. I'm glad I bought it.

Easy to assemble and use for trimming. Edgeing requires a little bit of skill/practice! First charge lasted 45 minutes. Charging base stored indoors to avoid excessive outdoor temps which can effect battery function. Cord free and loving it!
