The Pleasant Hearth Alpine Fireplace Glass Door is a decorative cabinet-style door with a high-heat, Black powder-coated finish that will add warmth and charm to your traditional masonry fireplace. The one-piece frame construction is designed to be mounted against a flat surface outside the fireplace opening. It has easy-grip handles, hidden damper-control knobs for airflow control, and thick, heat-resistant insulation. This fireplace door can assist in reducing heat or cool-air loss up the chimney by as much as 90%. Always keep mesh panels closed and glass doors open when fire is burning in fireplace. For masonry fireplaces only; not for prefabricated. Made in the USA.

Very nice modern design and easy to install. the quality is pretty good and the price reasonable compared to what is on the market.
The only thing that I would complain is that the "thick, heat-resistant insulation" is not enough at all so you need to probably buy some separately in order to insulate the fireplace completely.

The fireplace doors were delivered quickly and were fairly easy to install. Have not tried it with a fire yet though.
We looked at similar fireplace doors in the store to assess the finish and quality. The Alpine was not in the store so we ordered it online.
We like the Alpine because the top rail goes all the way across from side to side, which we think looks better than other Pleasant Hearth fireplaces with mitred corners. We have it in black and the simple design looks good with our fairly modern decor.

We have gas logs, so the flue must always stay open a little bit. These fireplace doors do a great job keeping the cold air out. And I love the mesh screens - I have a 4 and a 6-year-old, and I feel that they are safe with the fire going behind the mesh screens. The doors look great - they are very clean-lined and modern looking. (Though I think their dark color would also make them look good in a more traditional setting.) They were easy to install. I was impressed at how much adjustment the manufacturer built in to make them fit a variety of fireplaces. We had a minor problem with them - one of the magnets that holds the mesh door shut was broken in transit. The company was very helped when I called and they are sending us a replacement magnet. I love these doors.

This is a wonderful product to dress up any fireplace. It can be tricky to install depending on your fireplace. My fireplace is oddly shaped and I had to drill holes in order to complete the install. I would recommend this product to anybody, it is sturdy and well constructed; great value for the price.

The size was perfect, and the black finish went well with our decor. It installed easily in our masonry fireplace. The fireplace arrived very quickly but without installation instructions. It was easily remedied when I called customer service and a set was emailed to me immediately. My husband and I installed it in 30 minutes or less with just a screw driver a tape measure and a pair of scissors.

We had to drill holes into the lintel and it took several trips to the store to get one that would go through steel and a separate one to go through masonry. An hour job took us the whole weekend to get it done. Looks nice once installed.
