We bought this to clean up a basement that has lead-based paint dust. The HEPA filter is expensive but worth it. The machine holds a lot of debris, is rather lightweight (I'm 5' 1" and can't lift much), and the cord is nice and long. Just one thing: I wish there was a hose holder that would hold the hose in place when wrapped around the machine. Other than that, great.

This vac seems quiet for a shop vac, but not at the expense of suction which is strong. The fit of the lid and filters is tight, but the hose to connector connections leak quite a bit. I added duct tape to the joints and got a small boost in suction. The casters are rugged and the carrying handle is large and strong. I have had many shop vacs, but this is my first "HEPA" vac.

This is a great product...
The bag for the extras... well it holds one - maybe two items - this is truely a joke, and needs a redesign.
The hose is great quality and very strudy - however the connector from attachment to hose is reduced internally - means it gets smaller on the inside at the joint - makes and excellent spot for clogs - really a poor design
Besides the hose and the attachments bag - this si a fantastic machine.

Needed a Hepa vac to comply with new epa lead regulations. This vac has good suction, decent beater bar and great value. It is large and heavy compared to some of the other Hepa vacs on the market, but none of the competitors could compete with the price. I bought this on clearance for $299 when some the stores were discontinuing this item. Only certain stores now carry the Hepa vac.

A very capable vacuum with some minor annoyances

I've been using the Ridgid HEPA Vac for a few months now during a move and remodeling project. So far the vac's main functions have been working really well - strong vacuum, excellent filtering as far as I can tell, very sturdy, and reasonably quiet (with the supplied muffler). The provided attachments work for every task I've had so far.
One area they could improve is the tool attachment and storage. The primary hose connects to the vac unit with a latching clip (& works well), but all of the other pieces use a friction fit that requires frequent tightening. The on-board tool storage bag is undersized and clumsy (but better than nothing).
The vac was delivered with the secondary filter bag (covering the main HEPA filter) installed slightly off its mount and clamped on the HEPA filter media - which the directions warn against. So I'd recommend confirming that the HEPA filter and secondary filter bag are properly seated before use.

Large Shop Type Rigid Hepa Vacuum

Needed a hepa vacuum to be in compliance with the new lead paint removal rules. It was one of the less expensive large shop vacs. on the market. I own a regular Rigid shop vacuum that is many years old and works fine. I have every reason to believe that this one will be of the same quality.

I bought this vac being a little skeptical, after the first time using I was very happy with how well it contained the dust. I sand hardwood floors and I know guys in the business who have $3000 dust containment systems, I bought this for just over $400 for the same purpose and am very impressed!!

Ridgid pulls thru again for contractors

I am a licensed pro, I did my Epa certification, And now I needed the hepa vac,.
With lots of research and eye popping prices,I stumbled upon this vac (AND IM GLAD I DID), I have many shop vacs including the lovless drywall vac, This ridgid vac is by far the best quality Ive ever used.
It comes with all the acssesories you will ever need, The turbo beater bar is unbeleivable ( made in germany by the way) I wont ramble on ! So if you need a epa certified hepa vac than dont think twice.
