M. S. International Hampshire Slate 12 in. x 12 in. Gauged Field Tile is a consistent Natural Stone Slate in contemporary black. With a large selection of sizes and accessories to choose from, this tile can easily be laid in a pattern or single layout and is suitable for residential and commercial installations, including kitchens and bathrooms.NOTE: Inspect all tiles before installation. Natural stone products inherently lack uniformity and are subject to variation in color, shade, finish, etc. It is recommended to blend tiles from different boxes when installing. Natural stones may be characterized by dry seams and pits that are often filled. The filling can work its way out and it may be necessary to refill these voids as part of a normal maintenance procedure. All natural stone products should be sealed with a penetrating sealer. After installation, vendor disclaims any liabilities.

Actual product looks much better "in real life" than in the on-line photo. Qualilty is very good. Suggest using a color enhancer to really bring out the richness of color. Without it, it looks just a tiny bit dull

Used this on a new fireplace. We cut the tiles into 4 x 4s. The variations in the slate are amazing. Was a little worried when we first received them because they were not "clean", but when we washed and sealed them they were perfect. Some tiles are darker than others and the variation is quite noticeable, but if that is the look you are going for and if you mix up the pattern...it looks great!

Shipped directly from the supplier. The tile is of a high quality and very consistent thickness. Cutting and laying was a breeze.

Delivery was horrible. When confirmation was received for delivery, we brought the contractor out to lay tile. The truck broke down and it was 4 days later when tiles arrived. We had to rush out and buy replacement tile or pay for the labor the day they were supposed to be delivered and for them to actually come back and install tiles when they did arrive. Tiles were returned to our local Home Depot store for refund. Even though the description said black tiles, the gray picture is decieving. Delivery issue aside, the tiles are a great value and beautiful.
