the fridge has only been in for 3 weeks. everything is great. the auto ice maker is a plus. the sounds are different than my old fridge due to the cycle of compressor on and off more frequent because of the energy efficiency. the only thing that i will live with as a compromise is the two screw plugs on the front that allow you to reverse the door.

I have a small kitchen and this was the largest fridge that I could get to upgrade with. The fridge doesn't produce excessive heat from the back. It is relatively quiet and has a quality look. The top of the fridge came slightly dented on top - likely due to reverse door swing request. The moisture seal on the door can be a little strong and difficult to open sometimes.

Nice layout, and shelves seem sturdy. I like the slide out bottom freezer, operates smoothly. Easy to switch handle.. Easy to remove bottom vent facia to adjust wheels. Appears to be a little noiser than older fridge, but not too loud. Only had unit 1 month, but so far no problems.

It's great being able to see everything in the fridge, no more losing food because it got shoved in the back. I love that the door inserts come out for easy cleaning. The slide out freezer drawers are a huge convenience.

Have had the frig less than a month but love it, so far. I have never had a bottom freezer before and it is perfect for me. I don't freeze much and would rather look eye level at the food I eat every day. Ice maker works great! Can't comment on energy efficiency yet.

The refrigerator is very nicely put together, but the interior seems a little small. The freezer especially has a smaller capacity then expected. Overall we are satisfied. Very quiet, even the ice maker. Would recommend!

Don't know yet about the energy costs, but love having the freezer on the bottom. So nice also to have everything at eye level in the fridge, which is lit up so nicely. Door space is a great plus! Freezer space seems to be smaller, but nothing falls out on your toes like it did with the top freezer.

We bought this shortly after closing on our townhouse. It's a great fridge, and can hold a surprising amount of goods despite it's more "compact" size.
I would disregard the one 2-star review. The default temperature setting is perfect, no need to adjust. The seal on the fridge door is only tight shortly after closing the freezer because of the vacuum pulling the door closed. If the person who commented about it rolling forward knew to adjust the feet on the front, they would see you're supposed to lower them, thus lifting the wheels off the ground. No more rolling. Read the manual.
We also love the additional attachments you can buy, like a wine bottle hanger. Makes great use of otherwise unused space!

Frustrated
I just purchased this a little over a 1 1/2 years ago. The compressor went out. Of course there was only a one year warranty for a major part like this one. Needless to say, I'll never purchase Maytag again.

The refrigerator is compact and fits in the small space we have. It feels durable and looks nice in stainless steel. While pricier than other larger models, it does what it says it will do efficiently: the shelving and baskets are logically placed for effective and easy use. It is simply a very nice refrigerator.

I have an older kitchen with a small space for the fridge. The Ecoconserve 18.5 cu ft is the best of the ones that would fit. Doesn't have a whole lot of features except for the ice maker, and I don't have a water line for it.
Cons: Lower freeze door slides out kind of awkward; has a flimsy feel to it. The light housing intrudes into the front shelf space, making it difficult to access items on the top shelf.

I picked this frig (a replacement, old one not working) because it was came in black to match the rest of my appliances, had the bottom freezer drawer style, and would fit in the space. My choices were limited but this brand seemed the best choice. It's smaller than the one I had so I'm getting used to that. It is nice and quiet, looks good and is so far working well. I have the settings on 5. I haven't had it long enough to notice any difference with the ENERGY STAR. I don't know if I even would.
I didn't rate it with 5 because the compartments and shelves are pretty much fixed with not much adjustment to them. They were easy to put it and seem like they'll be easy to take out to clean.

I originally had a side by side and wanted a french door refrigerator but I did not have the space for it, this was a good substitute for size and cost, very pleased with the deep doors and the wide expanse of shelves. Only complaint (minor) is that the ice maker is a little noisy when dropping the ice into the tray.

I really love my refrigerator. I have had it for 2 weeks and so far, so good. I love that I do not have to bend over to get items out of the fridge. It's small enough to fit in my small kitchen, yet inside, there is plenty of room to store items.I also like how I can put gallon-size items in the doorway.
