Th installation instructions are poor. They do not describe the electrical connection sufficiently. The company did not respond to emails. The company web site recommended this unit for my area (New England) but the unit does not heat the water enough for a comfortable shower (only luke warm) and this is with a 2 GPM shower head. The quality of the unit is not that great.
No, I do not recommend this product.

The inlet and outlet fittings are horizontal on each side and are compression fittings. This makes installation more difficult when replacing a heater with vertical fittings when the supply and discharge are built in to accomodate a verticle attachment. They are also spaced about a foot apart. Temperature adjustment is easy.

I was disappointed with the first Rheema tankless electric water heater I ordered. Some of the parts were missing (screws, brackets, etc.). My contractor had to buy the parts that he needed for the install. Plus he could not get one of the pipes to stop leaking. Finally he give up after several hours of trying to make it work. I had to order a whole new tank. The second tank had all the parts and it only took him a few hours to install. He did not have any problems or issues. I started out with the knob on medium hot but I like my water very hot so for me I had to turn the knob all the way up to high. Now the water gets really hot but it's still not as hot as my old 50 gallon tank. But I love having the extra space in my kitchen which is a big improvement to what I had before.
Yes, I recommend this product.

1/2" compression connections required sweating pipe and reducing in order to use existing 3/4" plumbing. Do NOT use a lesser guage wire than recommended by Rheem! Even if you have a short run. This unit draws a LOT of current. The unit has two 6 coming out of the bottom with enough length to properly box it out. The issues that I have are existing. Copper pipe and well water. It takes at least 5 to 10 minutes for this unit to heat my pipes and the very cold well water in order to have a constant supply of hot water. The water comes out luke warm until the heat transfers to the copper. When the pipes are hot, the unit has no problems keeping up.

I bought this as a temporary solution for an apartment, but after I installed it I see no need to change it. I live in south eastern Ohio, the ground water temp here is 55* and this product produces more than enough hot water for a shower that lasts forever.
The only drawback is that it cost twice the money as the next size down. It is still worth the money.
Yes, I recommend this product.

i got this to replace my hot water heater, it would run out of hot water 3/4 of the way though the shower. The rheem does NOT run out of hot water.
The rheem 18 will run 2 sinks or 1 shower/ tub at a time. this is not a problem to my family of 4. If u need more showers to run at one time the rheem 18 is not for you, i would get the rheem 27. if u install yourself make sure to use (2) 40amp brakers and (2) 8-2 with ground wires, each should be running 220. my brother does this kind of thing for a living so if your not sure how to dont try it.

Our unit was very difficult to install. We hired a qualified electrician. Breaker requirements were very high.
PLumbing did not match usual water heater plumbing which we learned at our depot; is 3/4 inch. The rheem unit was 1/2 or maybe 5/8. The plumbing exoert at home depot and my electrician decided it required 3 connectors to step down to the Rheem plumbing. It took a couple hours to make the connections leak proof. After we finished it would not heat water at a steady flow only at a little better than a drip. We returned the unit replacing it with an ordinary tank heater.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Bought a house and within the first week the old tankless water heater croaked. We needed one asap and ordered it late on a Thursday afternoon. They told us there would be a day for processing and that we should expect it by the next Monday. It arrived early Friday morning so a big kudos to HD for their service. The Rheem water heater is nice and we're glad to have hot water again! I thought the unit was powerful enough for a couple of showers at the same time but it is not. I had the shower going and was very surprised by the cold water when someone turned on the washing machine. Other than knowing not to double up on water activities at the same time, it works very nicely. So if you plan on multiple showers at the same time, get a larger unit.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Just installed unit. If it hadn't been for a conversion from tank unit to tankless....this would have been a breeze. Mounting on wall and hooking up etc. All and all though... the unit works and operates great. Since old tank was leaking...two day delivery to house was great. Would recommend to anyone.

i hope that this tankless water heater last far longer than the powerstar one that this has replaced...went thru two of the powerstar ones in a year and a half...thing is the powerstar was seldom used besides the intial test after install....and the maker of the product(Bosch) when called said i had voided the warranty by not having the correct size circuit breaker in the panel which was total bs according to the electrician that helped me on intial building of the structure....
Yes, I recommend this product.

From the on-line information, I was able to select the proper model needed to supply ample hot water to our home (1200 sq ft with 2 baths, shower, clothes washer, and dish washer), to match the existing electrical source available in my home, and to link up to existing plumbing without having to replace or modify existing plumbing, Although not a plumber or electrician, I was able to replace the old tankless heater with this more efficient system in about one hour. From the on-line.information available, I knew what I was getting and how to install it. If my replacement tank had needed more electrical amperage than my old tank, I would have required a master electrician's help.
Yes, I recommend this product.

since using the water heater even though I live by myself I am saving 15-20$ a month on my initial investment. Also the hot water kicks on in about 10 seconds on the farthest side of my house. My old water heater took up to 2 minutes. Great little device and a space saver.

I purchased and installed this product about 1 week ago. I was going to get a bigger model because of another review that said that this model was insufficient for a shower. My electrician assured me that it would be fine and it is. It gives us constant hot water in our shower. I live in South Florida and it is in August now, so that could have something to do with it. I am unsure where reviewer lived that said this product could not provide enough water for his shower. If it does not keep water hot enough in winter I will update this review.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I'm very pleased with my on demand water heater. It was easy to install and works great. I have a small house with 1 3/4 bath and it works very well and creates space by removing the water heater. My Kitchen is the farthest from the tankless water heater so it takes a little longer to get hot water to that location. over all I'm very happy with the unit.
