Snow Blower Attachment for Tractors

The 44 in. snow blower has the capacity to handle big snow removal jobs. Works well in all snow conditions and is suited for snow removal around recreational parks, industrial parks, and other applications where snow must be moved greater distances. Ideal for home and estate owners in heavy snow regions.

I had mentioned in an earlier review that I was skeptical of how the John Deere D-170 with the snow blower would perform on a 300' long drive with a 15% grade at the end. But I also said I would report back as to its performance.
Well, it did what it said it would do especially during the blizzard where we got 24" of snow. Here is a summary.
In wet snow the blower had the most difficulty. The snow shout would sometimes clog and have to be cleaned out. This could be avoided by proceeding at a pace the snow blower could handle. Going to fast would lead to a clog.
Since I am a statistician and not a regular user of tractors, I had to learn to be patient and go at a pace the snow blower could handle. I learned to listen to the sounds of the blower to guage when I was going to fast.
During the blizzard in powdery light snow, the tractor truly shined. In fact, my neighbor has his driveway plowed and his plow truck got stuck in the snow! Yes, I have pictures. I have to admit it was fun to use the John Deere to clear snow so they could get their snow plow truck out the next day.
Be sure to buy extra shear pins. I had to use two, because I went to fast into a large pile of snow the city snow trucks left in the front of my driveway.
The bottom line is I saved $500 dollars on having my driveway plowed. The payments made on the other hand build equity in the tractor.
The tractor now has 13.5 hours on it. I will report back after the summer mowing season. FYI, I was paying $180/month to have my lawn mowed by a service. At least the payments now will go toward building equity in the tractor.
Depending on maintenance costs I expect the investment to break even in 2.5 years. Less than that if the equity in the tractor is included.
So far, I definitely recommend John Deere, especially through Home Depot with their deferred financing and their sales associates' genuine desire to help people like me.
Yes, I recommend this product.

i have a l111 tractor with a three year old snowblower on it. i have never sheared a pin but know from experience rocks or tree limbs will cause this to happen. it will throw even wet heavy snow if you slow down and have some patience. i am very happy with my john deere products. also if you are a veteran home depot gives you another 10 percent off your purchases every day of the year.
Pros: Sturdy, Powerful
Cons: Too Heavy
Yes, I recommend this product.

I have a L130 mower and had to replace the transmission on it due to the snow blower being to heavy. Would not recommend for a tractor this size.

After opening the box, it seemed I was missing half the parts! After working with Home Depot and John Deer to get this fixed, I was referred to the local JD dealer. We found that I had all the parts, but the installation manual was out of date and did not cover my tractor. That created a lot of un-needed hassle! I used the snowblower for the first time yesterday and it works great and is worth the cost. You will need chains and weights added to your tractor though.
Yes, I recommend this product.

A waste of money..It is to heavy and beats the transmission severely... Expensive broken belts and had to replace transmission. BIG BUCK repair..It sounds inviting to just ride around and remove snow, but dont fall for it!
Cons: Difficult to Use, Not Durable, Too Heavy, will ruin the transmission

Took about 3 hours to finish assembling from the palletized delivery, but now can get the product on and off the tractor in about 5 minutes! Has convenient controls up near tractor seat.

The spring on the mower engagement cable comes off easaly, sometimes the tension spring falls off when the mower spring desingages causing you to go look in the snow and waste alot of time, a good idea is to have a few handy(I have four left), traction is horrific, the chains mark up driveways and walkway pavers, the front tires are not big enough to make turns and just glide over snow as opposed to turning, slip differential is a bad idea, gets stuck alot
No, I do not recommend this product.
