Purchased 2 to replace older builder installed fans. As others have stated retrofiting is a challenge but not excessively difficult. Has the power to hold 3 toilet paper squares against the grill while running so steam removal is done with ease and with minimal noise.
Yes, I recommend this product.

When it comes to ceiling fans, NuTone is THE brand. I purchased this fan to replace a 1974 fan in my new house. My first choice when choosing a new fan was the CFM. I wanted more then 80. Additionally i wanted it to be quiet (1.0 Sone). This fan does both very well. Since this unit was larger than the 1970's unit, I had to cut a bit of the drywall (see drywall saw). Additionally If you cant/dont drop-install this unit from the attic, you will need to make a small cut for the exhaust outlet, and 2 thin slits for the stud mount flange. This is easy to fill and paint after the fact.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This is my fall back fan, very quiet, easy to install, good air movement. Good alternative for when a remote fan is too costly.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I installed this fan in my bathroom to help manage overall humidity in my 1 story ranch.
This fan moves 2 1/2 times more air, is 1/2 as many sones, and uses less energy that the fan it replaced. it is quiet and pulls air well.
My only complaint is that Nutone apparently did not plan for it being used for remodeling. I had to bend the flange that fits against the plaster board in order to get it in place, then bend it back after the install. One thing, I have 1" thick plaster board, not your typical 3/8". No harm done, I think, just a pain.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Bought this unit in-store. As the other review says, the installation wasn't too bad. Retrofitting is always an adventure, so don't be surprised if you have to cut a little drywall, one of the metal tabs, or something else along the way.
As far as operation, it is relatively quiet - certainly much quieter than the old fan it replaced. With the A/C or heater running, you can't even hear it. It was easy to hook up and works like a charm.
The one gripe I have is that the exhaust flap leave a TON of room for air to flow past when the fan is off. We had a problem with a little cold air seeping down from the vent with our old fan, so we'll see if the problem replicates itself with the new one, also. If it persists this winter, I may install some insulated ducting and hope that fixes it.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I purchased two bath fans to upgrade the guest half bath and the Master bathroom from the builder’s original attempt at a bath fan. When I was first looking for a fan I wanted something that didn’t sound like a diesel truck idling next to me as I brush my teeth. I settled on this one’s ability to be quiet and move a ton of air. I did the install myself and other than borderline dehydration crawling around in the attic, the job wasn’t that hard. Both of my new fans didn’t come with the grommet that protects the NM cable (nonmetallic cable/electrical wire) from accidental fraying after insertion into the fan. Overall I like the fans, but it does have a bit of an industrial sound to it, kind of a low grumble that I’m getting used to. I liked the fact that it is ok to use this fan above a shower if you have it grounded and have a GFI circuit breaker. One more thing to conclude this review, it has a 4 inch exhaust port so if you have the $13 builders special like I did then plan on replacing the 3 inch flexible tubing too. Home Depot has insulated flexible tubing in a variety of lengths; turns out they had one the perfect size for my job.
Yes, I recommend this product.
