I had to replace my old dryer that had kicked the bucket and went ahead replaced the old washing machine too. The high efficiency machine is very different than the kind I had been used to - but the HE washer is much better than the old one - if you read the instructions and do what they say. Also I keep them in the garage - so the strange noise it makes doesn't bother me (like I said, very different - not bad - just different). My son works in construction and we used soak his socks in bleach water for a couple of days before they were washed and they still came out dirty looking. Same socks - new machine - no bleach soak - they came out really clean - much cleaner than they had been for a long time! So far we are very happy with it (and the dryer). Also, it is energy star rated - so I will be getting a little back from the electric co., and hopefully, saving on my water/sewer and electric bills too.

I bought this machine less than a year ago. I needed something right away that was easy to use, energy efficient and cost effective. This seemed like the perfect choice, and it was! I love that it doesn't have an annoying agitator in the middle, you can fit more things in that way and bigger items (like my mattress pad, or blankets) without them getting lodged to one side and throwing the weight off during the spin cycle. It adjusts the water level to the amount of things you put in the load which is great. It does make a weird sound during the wash cycle that I thought was an alarm at first, but you get used to it. I bought this product online and home depot delivered it for free and hauled off my old broken machine which made it so easy for me. I would absolutely recommend this machine to anyone looking for a straight-forward, easy, efficient washing machine. I read a review before I bought it where someone complained about it not completely rinsing the soap out... that has never happened to me and the only thing I can think of is that they didn't use "high efficiency" laundry detergent (?)

I don't think it cleans the clothes as well as a traditional washer since there is not a lot of water for them to swish around in. I do like that my queen size comforter fits in it & I don't have to go to the laundromat anymore to wash it.

So far it has worked pretty well. I like that it doesn't use much water and my clothes have been pretty clean. I also like that the spin cycle doesn't seem to stretch out my clothes. In the past washers have spun so much that my clothes stretch out a lot. This one spins enough to get the water out but my clothes still keep their shape. It can be loud but it is in the basement so I don't mind.

I bought this washer because I got an unbelievable deal on it at Home Depot and needed to quickly replace our other one that broke. I was initially skeptical of the concept of a HE top loader and worried about some of the negative reviews on this model, although nearly 80% of the review are positive! I was pleasantly surprised at how well it cleans clothes, the capacity and the fact that it takes about half the time that it used to to dry a load. Our washer and dryer are located in the basement, so noise of the machine is not an issue, but I have been in the laundry room during all cycles and while it makes a different noise than a traditional washer, it's not bothersome. I wholeheartedly recommend this machine.

I was a little skeptical to purchase this machine after reading some of the reviews. I got it at a great price plus $75 rebate from the power company so I decided to purchase. I am pleased with the performance of this washer. My clothes have come out clean and not wrinkled nor damaged. I have washed large loads of towels and sheets with no problems. I believe those that are having problems are not loading the clothes correctly or not using HE detergent. The only negative to this washer is it can be noisy, but the sounds are not unbearable. If GE can make this washer quieter I would give it 5 stars.

Im single and do a avg of 2 loads a week.... Makes a totally unique sound, but it's not loud !!! no louder then my 15 year old Maytag.
Strong spin, if your going to hang cloths on a line, they will be wrinkled from the strong spin cycle, but cloths are damp at best and dry much faster in dryer.
Ive had maching about 45 days It seems solid, holds a lot. Wanted the Maytag, but couldnt say no to this price.
I did take the Depot extended warrenty for $99.

I didn't believe a brand new washer could be soooo bad. Maybe it would be ok if I didn't get dirty but I do! Jeans still have mud on them even with extra rinse. Doesnt desolve powdered oxy-clean so I have white junk all over my dark clothes. I've already taken clothes to laundromat to re-wash. How can this thing be so bad?

I have to wash my loads more than once to get them clean. There is just not enough water in the machine to thoroughly do a good job. I washed a small load of JUST socks and I had to do it twice and they still were not clean when the machine was finished. I am using Tide HE with bleach even!

This washer has a lot of the bells and whistles found in more expensive washers, but had a great price tag on it. I've already done 10 loads of laundry and it is doing a great job. I was able to wash a large comforter in it with no problem. I think I will really enjoy this washing machine.

I have had many washing machines over the years. This one takes the cake. Whoever engineered washing dirty clothes with little water, perhaps never considered water is the universal solvent. Little water equates to little outflow of dirt. This design is so bad, this newly purchased washer had to be replaced by another model, (purchased at a retailer other than the Home Depot, while I currently have this High Efficiency model gathering dust in the garage.

It's a little noisy and I'm hoping that its because of the fact that it's still very new and will break in over time. It definately has quite the squeak to it, but it is a great unit for the money overall.

I had an overly expensive LG HE washer go out. I did some research and found here at Home Depot over 200 people - OVER TWO HUNDRED PEOPLE - took the time to write about this washing machine - and the excellent delivery service. Correct on both counts!
Others have written plenty, but I'll add more. The machine washes clothes so clean, I wish I had bought this years before. It manages water better than an accountant and the quality is top notch.
It should be mentioned that the delivery service is terrific! They did just what they said they would do. Call the day before (around 5-6pm) to set a time, call again 30 minutes prior to delivery, and then install it - FREE. Those guys had the old one out and the new one installed and set up in 5 minutes. Seriously. Professional and NO DAMAGE.
I'm in the market for more new appliances and I'll definitely be using Home Depot without question. Who could ask for more?

The washing machine is nice. The installation featured a discharge hose that was defective. So we started out with water all over the floor. The GE repair man who can out was nice and fixed it quickly. All in the family agree that the clothes come out better using the new washer.

I'm very pleased with this totally different washer. The capacity is large and my clothes come out very clean and fresh smelling. However, you MUST use a detergent designed for high efficiency machines for the washer to work correctly! If you use regular detergent the dirt won't wash off your clothes and you'll say the washer doesn't work, is no good, etc. Great product!
