Although my hubby has not even opened this product we already know how great this Fryer is. My mom owns one and has allowed my hubby to Fry the Turkey for Thanksgiving for the past two years. Everytime he does it the Fryer is the topic of every conversation for at least the next three weeks, and he wants to fry everything. SO now he finally ha sone of his own!

The fifteen minute turn off switch is there for safety so that you dont walk away from fryer. You dont have to re-light the fryer each time! That would be insane! All you have to do is push in the switch when it starts to flash every fifteen minutes. Simple as that! It's a safety feature so that people dont walk away from fryer. It's very simple to use! The old fryers dont have that safety feature. This is a well built VERY easy to assemble FANTASTIC product! I highly recommend it !!!!!!!

First time used it this Thanksgiving. Very Easy to put together. Very easy to use! It is not dangerous as long as you follow instructions which are simple! Being nervous naturally, I made another turkey as back up "just in case"! 17 lbs. in the fryer and 18 lbs in the oven. The oven took 5 1/2 hours! The fryer 50 mins..... I had a family full of skeptics. EVERYONE ate the fried turkey first! When it was all gone we started to eat the other one... They are ALL still talking about it to this day!

It took about 15 minutes to put this thing together. All the parts were there which was great. Make sure you have 2 (AAA) batteries for the timer. I fried 3 turkeys in a week and had no probelms at all. The only somewhat aggravating thing is the gas shuts off every 15 minutes as a safetly so you have to re-light it a few times while heating up and cooking. Overall I was very happy with this product. I would suggest buying a basket if your going to cook anything other than a turkey.

I bought one of these Masterbuilts last year to fry 2 turkeys for Thanksgiving. Much to my amazement, the gas shuts off after 15 minutes, and you have to remove the tank from the stand, relight the burner and put the peanut oil tank back on the stand and hopefully avoid burning yourself during the relighting process. It takes about 30 minutes to get the oil to cooking temperature and about 45 minutes to fry a 12 pound turkey. It would take about 5 or 6 times to relight the burner (and avoid burning yourself) to get a turkey cooked. Needless to say, I used my old fryer because it's more convenient and safer than this piece of junk.
No, I do not recommend this product.
