Hot water heater worked for about 3 months really well but after that it has been awful. Just turns off in middle off use with no warning. Hot to freezing in less than a second. Will just about knock you out with temp change.
diagnostic system is a joke. Just tells you to call a technition. Do not buy, waste of money
No, I do not recommend this product.

This product works great and I wish that we had bought one sooner. It is fantastic to take a shower without the water temperature slowly dropping. The installation took two days and about $300 in supplies, both of which should be on the high end. The installation went smoothly until it was time to turn the unit on. The unit began to fill with water. After taking off the cover, I was able to determine that the water was spraying from a small rubber elbow in the top right hand portion of the enclosure. I was even able to find the fastener lying at the bottom of the enclosure. It took about 2 hours, because there is no space for my hands, but with the careful use of some needle nose pliers and a screw driver I was finally able to secure the elbow. It was very frustrating to see a factory inspection sticker on the unit. If this unit had actually been tested this would have been easily detected. I'm pretty sure that "water filling up enclosure" should be item #1 on their inspection checklist.
After working through that issue, it was all smooth sailing. The unit preforms great. I have recommended to family and friends.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Works great. Can't say I've "stress tested" it yet, but its working perfectly.
My only complaint is that I spent a lot of time tearing all the packaging apart and looking inside the unit for the mounting screws. I called support and they were happy to send replacements, but I wasn't going to wait. I just wanted to know where they were -- especially if they were hidden inside. The exterior vent cover was included in mine, nice surprise but the description didn't mention this so I wasted time obtaining another solution.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I have been using the item for a month now and it works great. No more heating of the water when not being used. Instructions are good and was fairly easy to install. At this point in time, I have no issues. Great product!

I am very happy. Only small complaint is water in the lines is cold and takes a while to get hot water in father reaches of the house. I would say 45-60 seconds. We just run the shower for a bit before getting in.
Yes, I recommend this product.

very smooth installation, requires plumbing skills and some basic carpentry if needed. This is a 2 person job and can take up to about 4 hours to install. A very good bang for the buck, and th product is very quiet and efficient

Installing together with my son was a great experience and was doable since we are both pretty handy with plumbing. However, if I had to do it all over again, I would probably have Home Depot contractor do the install.
Hot water heater works like a champ, thus far. Only have had for about a month so I can't speak to long-term reliability. But, no problems to date.
Yes, I recommend this product.

a very good cost saving items i have in the house, i don,t have to store 60 gallons of hot water and when guests come and stay we don,t run out of hot water, the best insallation instructions a little bit more work getting put in but in the long run i will get my money back, the last thing i live at 8,840 ft and with the ease of setting it at that sea level was just great. its the way for the future to save energy.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I contemplated if I should invest in a tankless water heater for about a year. One of the contributing factors that helped me decide is the fact I was able to use PVC to vent it instead of changing my entire vent system to 5" pipe and running it up thru my 2 story house. The kit is expensive. Instead I was able to mount it to an outside basement wall , cut 2 holes for the PVC.
I have put this unit to the test I ran the dishwasher, wash machine, and two showers all at the same time and the shower never changed temperature. You can take as long of a shower as you want it will never go coId on you.I will never go back to a conventional water tank again .
Yes, I recommend this product.

Purchased this product 2 weeks ago. Replaced my power vent 40 gallon water heater because it was leaking. Going tankless was only about $300 more, yet my gas company is currently offering a $500 rebate for installing this model (I would check with gas company for similiar rebates). You will also be eligible for the energy star tax credit.
I actually installed it myself and it was quite simple. You will need a 3/4" gas line to make it work. Spent about $200 on additional supplies needed and it only took about 6 hours.
Overall I am satisfied, it is extremely quiet and saves so much space in my basement. I has one error code after installaton and called Rheem on a sunday and got right thru to them and they talked me through fixing the error code. I simply forgot to remove a rubber cover over an intake valve at the bottom. Pulles off the cap and it started working right away.
I highly recommend looking into a tankless model before replacing with a traditional water heater.
Yes, I recommend this product.
