We ordered this unfinished steel ceiling tile to use as a finished surface for our wood stove heat shield in our new hearth. It's beautiful! Caution: edges are VERY sharp so wear gloves to even unpack it. It arrived with very small scratches that disappeared after a light rubbing with fine steel wool. I had planned to paint it with high heat paint, but now that I've seen it, I'm going to leave it unfinished. The metal is only 30 gauge so for our purposes it's too thin to use alone. We are attaching it to 1/2 inch cement board with a one inch air space behind it for optimum heat resistance. Couldn't be happier.
