So i wanted to update my living room by replacing the dirty old carpet with some new shiny hard wood or laminate flooring. I took to my local home depot and lowes to collect samples of flooring... after arranging the samples i liked on my floor, i gave them a test... i dropped screwdrivers and a hammer on the sample tiles seeing which flooring samples get most damage. One sample got the screwdriver stuck in it... (way too soft). This sample had a direct hit and nothing. Out of all the samples i tested, this flooring sample was by far the most durable... now i'm not saying you couldn't scratch it with a screwdriver or dent it with a hammer.... all i am saying is that of all the samples i tried (within my budget of under $3.50/sqf) this was by FAR the best result. Since i loved the look i ordered it from Homedepot.com because it is much cheaper on homedepot.com than at the local store ($1.79sqf vs $2.19sqf).
The delivery for this item did require me to be home and though they told me that they would come between 10-2, the delivery didn't happen until 4pm (i live 20 minutes from the trucking company that delivered it and they told me i'd be one of the first on the list for delivery) I did have to miss a day of work for this delivery as they wouldn't leave it without me being there... though this doesn't count against the product itself.
I installed it this past saturday. Took me by myself 12 hours (including breaks) to install about 300sqf (first time doing this)
It is high gloss floor, so you'll see every spec of dust.
Install was easy... though i do recommend watching "how to" videos from lowes to give you an idea of what it will take and how to do it properly as well as a list of tools you'll need.
For underlayment i used the Roberts airguard, though shop around for the best price. Home Depot wants $60/100sqf roll... amazn wants 39.99 for the same roll with no tax or shipping.
Don't buy the install kit (it's total junk) just make a list of things in install kit and buy separate items, they are much better quality, and will cost nearly same as the kit.

I installed this floor in my living room through the hallway. The hardest part of the installation was cutting the pieces to size and cutting the transition molding to fit around the tile, otherwise it was pretty smooth.
For all high gloss floor buyers I think you should be aware that it can show some toe prints and smudges so its higher maintenance than a less glossy finish. In my opinion worth the extra work - cleans up nice using manufacturer directions for cleaning. I'm extending this into my master bedroom and possibly an additional bedroom - it looks like I spent a fortune!

I wanted something that looked expensive but budget friendly as well as pet friendly. I'm very rough on floors and needed something that was really durable. I love love love these floors. Theyve changed the look of my whole house. I loved them so much that I decided to do my bedrooms as well. Just mad that they went up on the prices

We installed over 320 sq ft of this over concrete when we removed the carpet in our living room. Great value, and it looks good too. Be careful with the joints if you are tapping these into place with a block! The color was consistent in all the boxes.

We had these floors installed by Home Depot in our bedrooms and they look gorgeous. We are so pleased with the appearance and warmth it adds to the rooms. They are really shiny, and have the real feel of wood.

Looks great and was about average to install as I've installed other laminate with a friend a couple other times before choosing this for my house.
1 Con for me: It may have just been the boxes shipped to me, but quite a few of the corners of the tongue portion of the plank were deformed maybe from shipping, so I had to use a razor blade to cut them back down to normal width so they would fit into the groove of the next plank.

Couple notes:
- If you have a 10" miter saw, it doesn't quite cut through the width of these planks, leaving 1/4 - 1/2" to cut through with another saw which I didn't realize till I made the first cut. Minor inconvenience but nothing wrong with the product.
- Make sure you open several boxes and take out ALL the planks in each box to see what you have to choose from as you're laying the floor! In 2 of the boxes I took out 5 of the same exact pattern in a row before getting to another pattern in the box! It was fine as I opened several boxes and had nearly an equal amount of each pattern but definitely take note. There are really only about 4-5 unique photographs that are printed on the planks, and those same photographs are rotated 180 degrees to give you 8-10 patterns to space out during installation. At first I didn't think that was much variety but even in a small room it works great.

WE INSTALLED 250 SQ FEET OF THIS OURSELVES IN ABOUT 8 HOURS. WE CHOSE LAMINATE BECAUSE WE HAVE A BOXER AND DIDN'T WANT THE FLOOR TO GET SCRATCHED. IT TURNED OUT BEAUTIFUL AND HAVEN'T SEEN ANY SCRATCHES DESPITE OUR BOXER ROMPING AROUND ON IT. WE GET COMPLIMENTS FROM EVERYONE WHO SEES IT. THE ONLY DRAW BACK IS YOU CAN SEE DIRT ON IT, BUT IT'S EASY TO CLEAN WITH A SWIFFER MOP. THE FLOOR FEELS SOLID AND DOESN'T MAKE ANY NOISE WHEN YOU WALK ON IT. I THOUGHT IT WAS A VERY GOOD QUALITY FOR THE PRICE.

I had this professionally installed (private contractor) and he gave this flooring GREAT compliments it was easily installed, no boards were broken or chipped when they were cutting them. Cosmetically, it is the most beautiful flooring I've ever seen. It DOES show foot prints (like many people said) but it isn't a big deal to me. It does show dirt, dust like any wooden floor. We sweep A LOT now, to think that all that we sweep used to go into carpet is just crazy! I am so happy I went with this flooring, it added richness to my home and tons of value (to me at least)

I have installed 5 different laminate floors in my business, rentals, and friends businesses. The home legend distressed maple is one of the best looking floors (laminate and otherwise) I have ever seen. It is also the easiest laminate floor I have installed to date. The price was reasonable. I could not be happier! I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS BRAND FOR LAMINATE FLOORING.

I bought and installed appox 700 square feet of the high gloss distressed maple salinas in my house. Fairly easy to to install and I was able to finish it in approx 4 days (long days) by myself. This floor looks amazing! It is very durable as well and so far hasn't shown any wear or scratches. The high gloss shows dust in the light but its very easy to clean and maintain with a swiffer. Overall great product. Couldn't be happier.

First time floor installation, after getting the hang of the process the installation took no time at all. It looks great and seems very durable. An easy (and less expensive) alternative to traditional hardwood floor. The only problem we have found is that we cannot find a good laminate floor cleaner that does not leave streaks as it dries.
Overall, I would recommend this product to a friend and will probably use another laminate floor in other rooms in our house.

We have installed several laminate floors. This is the worst, it chips, doesn't lock together well, and scratches easily. I am fixing on doing a whole house and this will not be the brand.

Last week we purchased Distressed Maple Salinas 8mm Laminate Flooring for two bedrooms and we were a little concerned about the color being too dark but after we installed it we were very pleased not only with the look but ease of install. We are now thinking of using the same product to refloor our office.
