We have two dogs and I thought my old vacuum was doing a decent job. However, when I began using the new vacuum I was amazed at how much better it performs. Our house has never been so clean! I should have done this years ago!

After watching infomercials and seeing 5-star reviews online, by chance I found the Shark on HomeDepot.com at a competitive price--so I ordered it. I LOVE IT and am tossing out all 3 of my heavy awkward expensive namebrand uprights. Pros: The Shark has amazing one-pass suction, rolls & turns easily, is a snap to empty or change floor settings, and makes history of pet hair. It's easy to assemble and even has a pressure ring to decrease suction! Cons: You have to empty often the first time it's used since it pulls so much more dirt out of carpets; and the lift off unit is a little heavier for me than the "one finger" hold they show, but it is easy to change attachments and configurations. My daughter is buying one, too. It's the best vacuum at any price I've ever had--so vacuuming isn't a dreaded chore any more. I do 4,000 s.f. of wood/carpet/tile in a breeze. Also own the steam Shark and portable, and they're great cleaning tools, too.

I can't rave enough. I took the vaccuum home, put it together and started cleaning. I filled a canister with two rugs. It was amazing. I knew that my old vacuum lost suction long ago, but i never imagined how awful it had been until I saw the canister full of pet hair and dirt that my old vaccuum had left behind. I have three inside dogs and the Shark Navigator is what I've been looking for. It is well worth the money and a must for pet owners.

In LOVE ! I'd like to say I used a different vacuum the night before , So I really didn't expect to see much difference. Boy was I WRONG . This vacc has opened my eyes A LOT . I went from vacuuming a couple of times here and there, to 3 time a week . I love seeing the difference in my home. I am a pet owner so this vacc is HIGHLY recc. to those who have pets. Did I mention how portable it is ? I can clean each step in my stairway , not only that but my WALLS !!!!!!!!!! Bottom line, WORTH EVERY PENNY . You WILL see a difference ! Think your homes clean ? Use a shark nav. lift away and the TRUTH will unfold !

Highly recommend the Shark Navigator! I was using a hand me down Oreck XL, then recently bought the Shark. Even after running the Oreck I followed with the shark and filled the canister, twice!
I don't know anything about the dyson other than its over priced. Don't bother , get the Shark . Three cats and I can actually keep up with their sheading.

I replaced my still running 12 year old upright with the Shark Navigator Lift-Away. It exceeded my expectations in performance and I wish I had bought it sooner. The cost/value for what it does is amazing. My husband finds it very strange how giddy I am about a vacuum. I actually look forward to using it. I never write product reviews, but I just had to brag a little more about this machine! You won't be disappointed.

To any Buyers:
My wife & I, over the course of decades, have bought one too many "SuperSuction, Wonder Vaccuums&tc". They are/were dismal failures at what they were meant to do-clean a floor. By some chance & a bit of Computer Homework-we bought the Shark Navigator. Even if the brand name is absurd, this is a QUALITY PRODUCT! It will suck up the debris of a horse farm, tracked on to a carpet & hardwood floors-dog hair, horse hair, shavings &tc. by whatever title, one pass with this Unit- and you can call it Gone. It is even good to suck up the Hornets that have come to live with us! And it works on the auto fabrick- & that stuff is the 'child of an Un-natural union of Velcroe & Super Glue'. Hay. dog hair, mud-all gone. The Unit is well thought out, it is well balanced in all modes of use, and is easy to clean & maintain. The tidbits that come with it, are equally well thought out: even a tiny notched rubber belt on one attachment!
Now, the flaws, so minor, but need a note. The long wand has no place to 'ride' on the Unit. The short wand hangs UpSideDown on the holder, & falls off. Lastly, the hose is so stiff & unyeilding that the vaccuum will be pulled over. And last, the tiny metal filter inside the dust cup does not come out to be cleaned( I just give it a blast with the air compressor!) But, don't wait for the Improvements, if you need a good Unit now; just buy & adapt your own changes-which I have done. The basic model is Grade One, in our book(and we can remember the upright vaccuums with the cloth bag hanging off the handle! so that memory & history should give weight to our Opinion). If you want a vaccuum that WILL get the work done- Buy This Unit!

I am very pleased with this vacuum. I have mostly hardwood floors and a few area rugs. It does a good job on both. It has very powerful suction. I was very surprised at how much dirt and pet hair was in the basket after the first time I used it. Nice long cord. Easy to remove and empty the dirt filter. The vacuum base easily detaches from the floor brush and can be carried to clean those hard to reach places with the wand attachment. The small brush attachment does a great job on the staircase runner. I am very pleased with this purchase. I also bought the Euro Steam mop at the same time. Also a winner!

I love the ease of using this vacuum. It is lightweight and has better suction than my more expensive heavier vacuum. The vacuum is excellent on carpet and bare floors. You can adjust the suction for those scatter rugs also. The house smells fresh after using due to its hepa filter. The dirt container is easy to empty. I give this vacuum a high recommendation.

I love this vacuum! It's so light weight and easy to maneuver. It's a pleasure to vacuum now. I love the 'no loss of suction' feature and it's so easy to dump the dust and dirt. I've rinsed and cleaned to filter (not that it was terribly dirty) already and that was also easy. I wish I'd bought it years ago. Better late than never!

This is the first time I've ever felt the need to write a product review. I have three large dogs and the pet hair has been a constant battle. With hardwood in most of my house, I'd use both dust mop and broom (time consuming and inefficient) on the floors prior to wrestling with the heavy upright for my area rugs. Not so anymore! I am so impressed with the powerful suction on this vacuum and how lightweight it is. I'm now winning the battle of the fur, dust, dirt, etc. and find myself silently humming the Jaws soundtrack as I vacuum it all up.

I am extremely pleased with my purchase! If I had this vacuum cleaner years ago I could've saved lots of money, time and headaches. I love the power of this lightweight upright. It makes vacuuming my stairs a breeze. If you have a pet, this is a must have appliance.

Have only had this product for a month, but so far I have been impressed. I like the adjustable suction, the ability to turn the carpet roller on and off for floors, overall very happy. Does not work well on shag carpet, but that is the only negative I have found about this vacuum. Would definately recommend this vacuum.

Pros: Excellent vacuum cleaner and I have had many. I normally prefer a self-propelled vacuum cleaner but the Navigator only weighs approx 12-13 lbs so that is not an issue, I only hope that it lasts several years.
Cons: The color, why lavender, but I guess that is not a big deal. Cleaning area--is very narrow appears to be about 12 inches or so, but again not much of an issue because of the tremendous suction. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase.

I have a Dyson 24 animal that I believed was the best vacuum in the world,until the Shark Navigator lift away. It really out did my Dyson. I had just used my Dyson and when my navigator came, I thought it would be a great test to see if the navigator picked up anything. Was I surprised at how much was in the canister. My carpets look like new. It picks up dog hair much better than My Dyson. I can't say enough about it. The cord is shorter than Dyson,but it doesn't tangle like the Dyson. You have to empty the canister more often,but all the clips and buttons are easier to use than the Dyson. I can now take the lift-away more easily out to the garage to vacuum my car. It is just terrific. Thanks for a great product.

Good as an upright, or canister style for under furniture, stairs, drapes etc.. Liked the light weight. A little top heavy but not a major annoyance. Really picks up dirt!

I have 3 large dogs, a cat, and two boys who are great at making a mess of my floors!! This vacuum had been a God send! It works so well on not only my carpeted floors, but also my tile kitchen floor! Vacuuming the stairs is also a breeze with the lift away feature!! I now want all the Shark products!
