This is an excellent product for doing what it says it does - preventing rot, mold, mildew and insect infestations. The copper, just like copper on the bottom of ships, is what does all the work. Copper is a heavy enough metal to kill almost anything without being overtly toxic like lead. However, the product doesn't keep wood from weathering, drying out, cracking, etc. That's not its job. You need paint or stain to prevent weathering.
To minimize odors - since you are required by law to reduce it to half strength for above ground usage - is to mix it 50:50 with turpentine. It will still have a strong odor for a few days, but after that it will mellow into something almost like PineSol.
This product can be easily applied with a plastic, chemically resistant garden sprayer to very large areas like decks or foundations.
NEVER use this without GOOD ventilation.

Purchased pressure treated (PT) lumber and treated 14 4" x 4" post with the brown version of this product. This was recommended by our fencer. The product is quite thin (low viscosity), which means you could use a gallon pressure sprayer to do large areas. Added only a slightly darker brown color to the already brown PT wood we used so it isn't really noticeable. The post have been in the ground for 2 years now with no sign of mildew or fungus even with the dirt that has splatter up on the posts. I could smell the stuff the whole time I was putting it on with a brush so I rated the low odor factor only a 2. Being thin the stuff penetrated rather quickly.

For many years I've used this product for outdoor termites. You apply with a sponge paint brush. Simply letting the wood soak it in. It does stain so don't use it for nice wooden floors.
Pros: Good Protection

As noted by another reviewer, this product has an absolutely horrible odor. A contractor treated the studs on one wall of my attached garage, and the odor was so strong that it filled both floors of my house for a week.
I had a fan running on max 24 hours a day in the garage, and kept the garage doors open during the day and it still took over a week for the smell to dissipate.
A month later, I can't smell it, so it does seem to eventually go away, but this product should only be used in a well ventilated area.
Assuming it is effective, it's a pretty cheap option to try and protect wood, but the odor is no joke.

No, I do not recommend this product.
This product has a strong chemical odor that does not go away. If you're fencing a pasture it's probably fine, but I would NOT use this product anywhere near a house. Do a quick google search and you'll turn up people going crazy trying to get the smell out of their basement years after application.
