If I had reviewed this a few months ago, it would have been much higher. I love the toddler seat attachment. It did start scratching the main seat a little, but I can live with that. Unfortunately, the toddler seat starting becoming unattached too often. Every time my toddler would put it down, it would come off and she would need my help getting it back on (so yeah, annoying). Then the peg that holds the toddler seat broke on one side (because it was going on and off so much I'm sure). We had it less than a year. I contacted the company to see if anything can be done.
No, I do not recommend this product.

An absolute waste of money. Children's part broke in two weeks, whole seat fell apart in a couple of months. Very poor quality plastic connections and material was used. DO NOT BUY IT

This was a quick 5 minute install, and we don't have to have one of those nasty potty seats on the floor that we have to empty every time, or one that goes off and on our full size toilet, and has something to hang it on the wall when not in use. Who wants that hanging on their bathroom wall? Anyway, bought a second one after we decided the first was working.

I bought this Next Step toilet seat for a rental house that I have for in the children's bedroom. It is sturdy and just what I wanted for the children that stay at my rental. I love how the toilet closes gently as well. I am extremely happy with my purchase from Home Depot.

We used to have to pull our Elmo kids seat insert out of the cabinet each time. This is brilliant. The seat is built-in to the upper lid and held in place with a magnet. All you do is pull it down when you want to use it, otherwise any normal adult using the toilet would probably not even notice it has a toddler seat built-in. This one is expensive, but is the only one I have found with the slow close lid. All you do is pull it past verical and it has some kind of shocks in it that lets it down real slow...also preventing loud lid slams and smashed fingers!

I researched a lot of potty chairs and my husband wanted an insert little potty for our 2 year old. This one is sturdy, easy to install, my 21/2 year old can sit on it independently. It has a magnet to fasten the little seat to the lid, which is great because my son can lower it by himself. Others have a lock which is difficult for kids. The slow hinge is perfect and works great! I have 2 of them.

I have been a daycare provider for 20 years and having the small potty seat attached to the toilet seat is the best thing ever. I love it, it is so sturdy and the lid holds the small seat so well. Very easy to install and the lid will close slowly by itself so you do not get little fingers slammed.

I love this toilet seat! My daughter is still too young to use it but I love how quiet it is when you put the toilet seat cover down. It took me awhile to get used to not having to ''put" it down so it doesn't slam. This puts itself down almost silently - you just have to nudge it. No problems with the extra seat coming down when you don't want it to - it stays up magnetically. Good buy!

Easy to install -- 10 minutes. Looks great. Had the toddler sitting on it pretty quickly. Love the quiet close -- it's also good for safety so the lid doesn't slam down on a tiny boy's private part :)

We bought this to help my daughter with her potty training. She loves it and uses whenever she has to go potty. Now she doesn't have accidents and doesn't always ask us to go with her to the potty. She says it makes her feel like a big girl. I would highly recommend this product to anyone and everyone who has a little one that is in potty training mode.

this does exactly what we need it to do. we have a small bath so no room for her own potty seat and not really room to even store one that sits on top (and I don't really want to see one every time I walk in). The soft close hinges are good for a 2 year old that has to do everything herself. She doesn't slam the lid down. The magnet that holds the potty seat up when not in use is very strong. We've never had a problem with it falling and being in our way but she can still put it down herself. Also, the bolts that connect it to the toilet don't loosen over time. Very happy we spent the $ on this. If you are considering this one, go ahead and spend the $.

This product is a great concept. It worked very well for the first month. Today, the hinge just seized up and would not allow the toilet lid to close. Apparently, this is a bit of an issue as I have seen this problem on other websites for this product. I will be taking this back to the store for a replacement, which hopefully there shouldn't be an issue to exchange it.
I am unsure as to whether this is an issue for the elongated models only or if it is the same with the round seats. Our church has replaced all toilets with the Bemis potty seat (round) and I do not believe we have had the same issue.

Much easier than maintaining a separate child's potty or even removable potty seat. The child's seat lifts up with the main seat (magnetic connection), making it easy for adults to use. One easy flip brings the child's seat down, and it's fairly lightweight, so no big crash noise or anything. Slow closing seat too, so that won't crash down either. A little tough to clean the nooks and crannies where the seat meets the toilet, but I had the same trouble with our old regular seat too, so nothing new there! Holds up well to long-term use.
