I bought the 2' light, which allowed me to hang it from 2 hooks and enclose it in a large windowsill to make it my own little personal seedling box. The brightness is amazing, and this was the first year we decided to do seedling. The veggies started to sprout literally within 2 days under the light.
Pros: Easy to Assemble, Functional, Well Made, High Quality of Material, Looks Great, Very Bright, Good Size & Weight
works great vegging! I made a make shift grow area and put up the light.. very bright! currently running 24 hours and vegetables are growing straight up and right! good root system too.. just waiting for march hopefully northerns quit blowing by then and I can transplant my plants!
I bought another one of these lights last year so I knew what I was buying, I used these in my green house A small indoor type and these lights are extremely helpful in getting my plants started. I give it an A+
Pros: Easy to Assemble, High Quality of Material, Functional, Well Made, Eco-Friendly, Very Bright, Nice Design, more than adequate to do job
The instructions say the light must be hung within a few inches of the plants which means it is only effective for a small area. It has an outlet to plug in another light but it is on the BOTTOM of the fixture which would leave the cord hanging in the plants. Don't believe the illustration on the box showing the outlet on the end of the fixture. I returned the fixture as being unsuitable for my use.
Pros: Looks Great
Cons: poorly placed auxillary recpticle, lights only a small area
This little gay works great had it on for 6 days now but I need bigger one so I'm returning it looks nice gets a little hot but like i said on 6 days straight, I would recommend for a two or three planter I have 8, and there in large pot already product over all good no plant burn 1 inch away, would like to see lights better placed there is a 1 1/2 inch gape in the middle for the power plug, And the plug is on bottom not the side funny
Pros: High Quality of Material, Looks Great
Cons: space in the middle loss light coverage not much
Puts out way more light then regular bulbs. No problems with the light covers when removing and I didnt read the instructions. I think it is pretty self explainatory. Chain was really long but I can cut it or tuck it up. Very pleased I spent alittle more then regular shop lights for this.
Pros: Easy to Assemble, Looks Great, Good Size & Weight, Functional, Very Bright
This is my 2nd fixture of this brand. It's only difficulties were bulbs that did not seat securely thus being somewhat difficult to get a consistent contact for being on. The plug in feature for connecting another fixture differed from the one I bought last year. It required a grounded outlet so that I had to use an adapter to connect the two fixtures. Once those problems were resolved the light has been very good.
O.K. here's how to beat that not so good lens cover. Go to middle of the inside of that fixture, carefully lift with finger nail under lip of lens while just pushing on the side opposite at the same time. Get a gap going and once started gently work your way to either end pulling up with nail and pushing in opposite as the gap progresses. Otherwise, get the Home Depot floor clerk to do it. By the way before taking this home remove fixture from box with a HD helper looking on or helping you. Inspect for breakage, missing parts and have him or her plug it in. This they will gladly do and it saves you a hassle of returning after just getting home and finding out it is bogus. I think giving the buyer a real 24 inch and not 22.5 inch fixture would be a start to value. The lens cover is not good for those with strength, patience, or arthritis issues. Price wise it's just O.K. not a screaming deal of the century. The included bulbs ( if they hold up ) does make it competitive. I bought because everything in T5 is way too expensive otherwise. You be the judge.
I broke both bulbs trying to remove the plastic covers (diffusers) in order to remove the cardboard piece holding the bulbs in place. The written instructions were vague and no picture to help. Once I figured out what to do to remove the first one, the second one was just as difficult. I broke both bulbs. Now looking for replacement bulbs and/or returning fixture.
Described as 24" grow light. Assumed it was the same size as a 24" fluorescent shop light, but actually measures to be 22-1/2" L. This means that the bulb measures approx. 18" L. Covers a lot smaller area than a standard 24" light fixture. Plus, it is to expensive for the small area that it covers. I had to add aluminum foil around the edge of the fixture to act as deflectors so the light would cover a larger area. I would not purchase this item again. I suggest purchasing a standard fluorescent shop light, and using T8, or T12 lamps.

Review 14 for 24 in. 28-Watt White Grow Light
Pretty easy, but I broke part of it trying to open it
In the instructions, it says to open the covers so that you can take out two pieces of cardboard. I tried to do so, and I broke a 3 inch piece off one of the sides... Kind of flimsy, but you get what you pay for. It's easy enough to set up once you've taken the cardboard pieces out from inside. Anyway, my plants are doing well under it, so I can't complain.
Good deal considering you get the light and the bulbs. the chain is super long which is good and bad but I'd rather have it too long than too short. Doesn't get too hot. Overall, I'm very pleased and would buy more.
The clear acrylic lens are very fragile ... all broke the first time I tried to swap the bulbs. You have to squeeze the sides together to fit it into the housing but it is of such poor quality that it snaps where the clear side joins the opaque side. I have two fixtures and all four lenses broke. I was not able to find any replacement lenses for this model. Also the internal wiring/ballast has a problem and you might have to jiggle the bulbs to get them to light or stay on.
I bought 3 of these units to grow some spinach and lettuce through the winter as well as keep my potted pineapple plant alive since it can't survive a Philadelphia winter. It's been 2 weeks and the pineapple has noticeable growth so I feel confident these lights are getting the job done. Installation is easy; I hung mine from a drop ceiling. And they're inexpensive but effective.
I bought 3 lights and 2 are still working. One light stopped working after 3 weeks. I returned the one light and got my money back. I was unable to order a new light. The light is not available online or in stores near my location.
