No, I do not recommend this product.
As another reviewer recently posted, this product has undergone a major reformulation and no longer works. The original formula (containing Fipronil) was literally good for all year, not just one season. Unfortunately Fipronil is no longer sold for general consumer use due to some EPA issues. Commercial licensed pest-control applicators can still obtain Fipronil but it is now very expensive.
The current Over-N-Out product contains Bifenthren as the principle ingredient, which coincidentally is also the principle ingredient in much less expensive brands of fire-ant control products. It has been my experience using Bifenthrin-based products that fully effective control of fire ants requires over-application, i.e., applying the product at its heaviest rate followed by *RE-APPLICATION* every 60~75 days. If you apply at the minimim rate, your ants will be back in as soon as 2 weeks. Also if you wait to re-apply at the manufacturer's recommended interval (90 days) your ants will very often already be re-infesting your lawn.

No, I do not recommend this product.
Not even a month after application I already have a couple of mounds. Not impressed at all. Followed the directions on the bag, too.

Worked great last year. Driving 60 miles to get some more for this year! Not a fire ant in site May to September (though did see a mound in October).

I was looking at the big name brands, confused on what to buy, but an HD employee stopped and explained this was a great product and better value. He was right, it worked the first application! I wish I had gotten his name so I could say thanks.

No, I do not recommend this product.
This product used to contain Fipronil granular. That's what I used to actually kill my fire ant's in FL for the 1 year period. EPA banned Fipronil granular in 2010, so this product no longer kills my fire ants, like the original formula. The product Termidor SC contains Fipronil liquid, so I used that and my fire ant problem is solved, until they decide to ban that. Termidor SC is used primarily by pest control company's to kill and prevent termites, but can be bought by the general public.

Killed ever ant over night! I did this in the evening, spread the granules all over my lawn and then watered it like fertilizer. By the next morning ants were dead, sadly even a bird. So yes, keep this away from pets - I did not do my back yard due to the fact my dogs are loose back there and would hate to tell my girls the dogs are SLEEPING. I placed this in early April and I have not seen ant piles or bad ants since then...its July now.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Install, Strong, Great Quality
