8:1 Energy Audit IR Thermometer

Since 1910, General Tools has grown to become the recognized industry leader for specialty hand tools and instruments. General Tools’ IRTC50 has a three-color light panel on top to indicate whether the temperature of a scanned surface is below, within or above a reference temperature. Heat losses caused by Inadequate weather stripping or insulation will produce a color change and point out where repairs are needed, This makes the IRTC50 ideal for energy auditors, building inspectors, HVAC technicians, auto mechanics, electricians, manufacturing technicians, food processing inspectors and homeowners.

Good IRT meter for the price, would of like to be able to change the emissivity value but I like exact values. Very good to give your self a quick reference. With the huge range light on top that quickly tells you, red hotter than reference, green at reference and blue below reference, you can give it to someone to use as a go no go gauge.
Would also like to be able to turn off the alert sound, things you pay for when you buy the higher priced ones.
Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: fixed setpoints

I am by no means good with tools, but this thermometer is great! Easy to use accurate and quick to understand. Handy gauge on the side as a reminder to see the area being read to the distance away. Definitely recommend.
Pros: Easy to Use, Compact, Clear Instructions, Nice Design
