We bought this dishwasher to replace an older one that was in the house when we bought it 6 years ago. It limped along, sort of cleaning our dishes after we basically had to wash them by hand first!
This new GE Profile dishwasher is everything I had hoped it would be!
Clean dishes, no spots, quiet running, and it also has more available space inside as well.
I'm very pleased with it and glad I finally did something about replacing the old one!

As mentioned in the previous review - this dishwasher does not get your dishes clean! This is my third diswasher in my home and it is the by far worse than any of the other two. My first one was a cheap "builder installed" model - lasted 9 years. The second was a maytag (which I loved and would have kept if I didn't remodel my kitchen with stainless appliances). This just does not do the job - even after trying every detergent, every setting and every suggestion by manufacturer!
No, I do not recommend this product.

You'd be a chump if you bought this $600 product. You'd have to find another $500 and the space to install a dedicated water heater, then this may be the product for you. This dishwasher replaced two previous ones that lasted for 10 years each. Within a few months there was severe blade clogging and streaking. The GE tech insisted that "modern" dishwashers did not have localized heating to qualify as energy-efficient, and then lowered my expectations that I would be always unhappy with the dishwasher until I installed a local water heater, and that modern soaps could not contain some chemical any longer and did not break down and combine well with less than 120 degrees water. Nowhere in any literature does GE warn you that you have to install a local heater in most homes where the main heater is more than 20 feet away.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I expect a dishwasher to do a great job at cleaning the dishes and this one does the job and more. It has lots of room for the tall pans and glasses. And it is soooo quiet!!! I start the dishes and can hardly hear it unless I listen closely. I deliberately ordered one without the built in soap dispenser since that clogged up and stopped working in an older model of this dishwasher in my old house. I wasn't sure if I would like the controls on the top, but I am ok with them. It was expensive though.
Pros: Lots of Features, High Quality, very quiet, cleans great
Cons: no height adjustable top rack

Purchased a week ago and have run several loads and I have no problem with the way way it cleans the dishes. The machine not only looks nice, it cleans very well. I would highly recommend this dishwasher as well as my other GE Profile appliances to anyone.
