The Ventamatic Solar Powered Gable Ventilator with 12.6 watt 18 volt DC Motor has no energy costs. It has a 12.6 watt multi-Crystal panel. It can handle up to 1,000 CFM with additional solar panel. It is designed for attics up to 1,500 square feet. There is no wiring to the AC main power source.

I had to adjust the fan shroud because one of the blades was hitting the bracket but, after a few minor adjustments, it worked well. Installation was rather simple, even though I have a Terra Cotta Tile roof and had to make a free standing platform to mount the solar panel. I also placed an off/on switch in line, so that I could turn the fan off during winter months! My only negative comment would be, the price is a bit steep for the quality of the fan and it's parts but by the same token, living in Arizona with the outdoor temperature getting upward of 120 degrees, the attic gets over 140 and it's a good place for a fire to start and with that in mind, this fan is priceless if it saves lives!
