The California Air Tools 1610A Ultra Quiet Air Compressor is designed to be one of the quietest air compressors in the industry having only 60 decibels of sound. This air compressor makes less sound than a normal conversation (65 decibels). The powerful 1.0 HP motor operates at only 1680 RPM creating less noise and less wear. The Oil-Free Dual Piston Pump System is engineered for high performance and durability .The 1.6 gallon aluminum air tank is lightweight (35lbs) and rust resistant making it very easy to transport and store. This air compressor is ideal for anyone working where noise is a major issue

This is a fantastic compressor! Very quiet, especially for the price. Great for small tools and enclosed areas. Make sure to check your packaging and inspect it when you receive it. I've ordered two so far, and one was damaged. Overall a great compressor.

I purchased this model because I placed a premium on having a quiet machine. I also like the compact design. It works great and it certainly is quiet so I am very pleased so far. I rated the value at four-star because the unit is relatively expensive compared with others of similar capability. If it holds up with time it will be well worth the price.

I replaced a "pancake" type compressor that was mounted in the engine room of a sport fishing boat I captain with the California Air 1610A. The compressor supplies the air needed to open and close the air door to enter the boat along with the air horns and small air tools. The old compressor was noisy to a degree that it could be heard inside the boat when it would run. The California Air is so quiet I can be in the engine room and not even realize it is running at times.

This is a great little compressor for a unit in this size/weight category. The compressor motor/unit is based on those created for reliable use in the dental industry which can cost a lot more money than what you will pay here. It is indeed very quiet for an air compressor and has a fast recovery rate for a unit of this size. It is great for general use, running air nailers, small air tools, pumping up tires, etc... It is also light enough to be moved easily. Great product and certainly recommended.
