We purchased this for a 1948 house with poor subfloor for the kitchen. The floor was very forgiving for imperfections in the subfloor. We only used leveler for one area that was over 1/2 inch off. looks very professional. we added the sealer from the mfg. which took 2 days to get. I underplayed for waste. Follow the directions on where to start in the room. Do not start directly in the corner unless all your walls are plumb. NOT! Very happy and plan to use it in a game room.
Pros: High Quality of Material, Great Instructions, Easy to Clean, Sturdy, Comfortable, Easy to Install, Looks Great, Looks High End, Modern, Effective

I installed this in our basement fitness room. I had looked at a lot of other choices, including the jigsaw puzzle foam squares, but came back to this for a number of reasons:
-Simple to install - I swept the floor and started laying tile. This was a finished room so I trimmed the edges to leave about 1/4" space between the tile and the drywall, and installed baseboard trim after the floor was installed. Looks great.
-Durability - the tiles wear like iron. Dropping dumbbells, dragging benches around, etc... and just a couple minor scuffs. The floor is holding up wonderfully.
-Cushioning - It was important to have some cushioning for exercise, but I didn't want to feel like I was jumping on a sponge. This is a great compromise; about as much give as a low pile carpet, but with everything else.
-Moisture resistance - It is an exercise room, and there are 2 puddles of sweat on either side of the treadmill when I'm done. Yeah, I know, gross, but reality. With this floor, it's a simple wipe to clean up. My treadmill used to sit in our family room, and it was impossible not to soil the carpet...which is why the fitness room is now in the basement.
-Looks great - actually, this was a major consideration. The fitness room is between the walkout doors and the rest of the finished basement, so it was important that the floor looked as good as the rest of the room when we have parties where people are walking back and forth between the outside patio and the basement lounge area. The slate appearance of these tiles fit right in with the rest of the decor.
If there was a negative, it would be that I needed to trim a few of the tiles to get a nice fit, but that was an easy operation. I used my table saw to take off a hair from 2 edges and they went right together. A huge plus is that it will be easy to pull up the tiles if I ever need to. I consider these tiles to be a great investment if you care about the appearance of the room they are going in and you need the performance.
