I have had my Danby, DDR6009REE, 60-pint dehumidifier for about one month. It was easy to install, if a little heavy to remove from the excellent packing. It is very necessary to follow the instruction about reseating the bucket after set-up. The flexable extension was of poor quality and too short for my use. I went out to Home Depot and bought a metal tube well worth the additional expense. The fan runs continuously – a great advantage to keeping the air circulating in the basement. We have regular interruptions to our power supply so the automatic restart is to our advantage. Emptying the bucket requires some care. I only did it once to test the system. I strongly recommend basement users to use the automatic drain feature with a metal tube draining into a sump pump (if you can!). In all a “BEST BUY.”

This product is very quiet and provides many options making it useful in many situations. The quality and construction of the unit is well thoughout and it appears to be a very good product.
The only problem found with the Danby is the instructions, they are NOT clear and it is hard to figure out initially how to set the machine and make it perform as needed. They refer to a "stand-by" mode but do not tell you how you know when the unit is in this mode and that is confusing especially if you are trying to set it for an automatic on-off situation.
Customer Service and Shipping from Home Depot is WONDERFUL! Home Depot does an excellent job trying tjo make their customers happy and they do!

We had a severe moisture problem in our home. Even while running a previous dehumidifier our wood windows were molding and patio door bowed, needing to be replaced. This product has completely eliminated the moisture problem in our home. I can't tell you just how thrilled we are with it!

The Danby 60 pint dehumidifier was much more complicated than my last dehumidifier to operate. I also do not care for the bucket style, there is no handle-grab area to hold when trying to remove a heavy load of water. I am afraid of dropping the bucket, and feel sure that if I do, it will break because of the type of plastic used. I prefered my old brand much more, Unfortunately they discontinued it .

Not pleased with the fact that the fan stays on ALL the time. Timer seems to set only compressor to go on or off, but not the fan.

The product came appropriately packaged. I pulled it out, plugged it in and it's been working like a charm ever since. Fan constantly runs, but I close the door to my room and I cannot hear it.

I purchased the product for my classroom and it has been taking basically a full bucket of water per day. The air feels a lot better and it is also very quiet. I have not tried connecting the hose, but for those that can, it will help greatly since you will not have to be emptying out the bucket so often. I highly recomment this product.

The item works well, however, it was not clear in the synopsis in reference to the timer mechanism. It CANNOT be set to come on and go off, repeatedly. You can only set it to come on, or to go off. It does not repeat the function. Once it goes off...it is off and needs to be reset to come on. Once it is on, it needs to be reset to go off. This makes it pretty much useless for using all the time unless you put it on a timer switch. You can't just leave it on because the FAN RUNS ALL THE TIME.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This machine is working fine. My only complaint, if you can call it that, is the markings on the control panel are vague and It would be even better if they had given descriptions of each of the buttons and LED displays so you don't have to go to the operation manual every time you want to adjust the unit.

This unit replaces a 10 year old dehumidifier that just couldn't do the job anymore.
I plugged the Danby unit in and a few days later a marked difference in the basement humidity!
I have not receiced my electric bill yet so I can"t comment on the energy efficiency. I will say however, that once the humidity was brought down to the set level the unit seldom cycles.

I found the Danby 60 Pint Dehumidifier to be very effective. I have a very large basement that always smelled musty. I run the dehumidifier 24/7 and set the humidity to 50%. I have it draining into a sink, so there is really nothing to do. The musty odor is gone and I am very satisfied.

I have never owned a dehumidifier before, but the fan seemed a bit noisy even on low. A third and lower fan speed would be nice. The fan runs all the time,so I set it up to turn on and off with a heavy duty timer. A couple of hours a day is all I need this time of year. The humidity setting is 60% as default when the timer turns the unit on. I wish it were adjustable. Overall I think it is the best choice on the market.

only been 4 wks but unit seems to be working very well. draws water quickly and is much quieter than i expected (even with fan on high).haven't used auto drain yet but emptying manually is real easy. so far, i'm very happy with it.
