We bought 8 of these crates (in-store) to make small furniture for our son's "big boy" room. We made 2 nightstands and a bookcase, finishing them by giving a "distressed" and aged look. We are so pleased with the results! For the price, these are incredible.

Bought six crates and used them for shelving in my garage. Three stacked vertically from my work bench to the ceiling and three across top made good-looking, functional shelves. I left them bare and they look great!

These crates are nice for the money - I especially like that the handle holes are nicely rounded and sanded, making them easy to carry. Unfortunately, I bought these because another reviewer said they were the perfect size for storing vinyl LPs. I think he must have been reviewing the wrong product, because the interior dimensions of the crates are slightly too small to accommodate an LP. (I should have measured before I ordered. An LP is 12.5" wide, and 12.5" is the EXTERIOR width of these crates, not the interior width.) The crate is big enough if you turn it sideways, but then the records fall through the bottom slats, so they really don't work that way either. Too bad, though, because if they were just half an inch wider, they'd be perfect.

Cons: not the right size to store vinyl lps

I bought these crates to do a project that I found on Pinterest. I stained the crates with cedar naturaltone stain and nailed them together in a square shape, making a coffee table.

I bought 4 crates to create some storage in my bedroom. I had been looking for vintage crates, but couldn't seem to find any affordable and sturdy ones. I decided to get these and stain them to match the look I wanted. These crates needed to be sanded to smooth them out, but they took stain really well, and have a really nice grain! This project turned out better than I could have imagined. The crates took on a whole new look with 1 layer of stain, and were much sturdier and cheaper than a vintage crate.

I purchased two of these to use as shelves in my bathroom. I used a dark stain, and some parts of the wood didn't absorb it as well as others, but that's ok, as I'm going for a slightly "distressed" look. Pretty sturdy, the wind blew one off my porch rail, and didn't break after falling a good 7-8 feet to the ground. Edges and corners were a little rough, but sandpaper took care of that easily. Will buy these again if I need some more.

ordered 5 of these for each grandchild to assemble and paint/decorate themselves ... oops thought they were a kit but turns out they are quite nice fully assembled crates ... the kids ... or anyone ... can still have fun painting, staining or decorating themselves.

When i purchased this item i had assumed it was durable but for the price what did i expect. When i pulled the first crate our on of the pieces came off. i was upset and nailed it back done since it was just a stapple holding them. Unfortunate that didnt work so i had to pull out my own nail gun. I wanted crates for my children books which i have used them for and it looks great. Next time i want crates i will wait for holiday season

I bought 4 crates to use to carry and display my handmade pottery at art and craft fairs this coming summer. Last season i made 4 myself, so I know that @ $12 and free shipping these are a good deal. They are a little lighter and smaller than my handmade but I think they will serve fine.

They are nice constructed, but some of them have sharp edges or splinters. Before using them, I sand them lightly to remove potential splinters. Then I stain and protect them. They look really nice and can be placed in any room. I use one of them to gather my old newspapers. I like them. I've bought ten of them in three separate orders.

We ordered about 50 of these from Home Depot, because our other supplier ran out. We figured, hey same price, same quality. But we were wrong. I am very surprised about how poor the quality is on these crates. I mean, they are cheap crates, so they should be expected to be cheap right? Well at the same time, the ones from out other supplier look almost IDENTICAL, but are very very strong. and are actually a dollar or two cheaper. In fact I went to lift one of these crates and the slat broke in two right in my hands. For very very very light duty work, sure they may be ok, but we wouldn't buy these again.
Also who ever decided to use the heaviest industrial glue to adhere the stickers to the sides of the crate should have used it instead to hold the crates together! The sticker was stronger than the crate!!!
Cons: crumbled instantly, sticker ruins the product, sloppy craftmanship
