No, I do not recommend this product.
I consider myself to be a fairly experienced gardener. I bought this soil and mixed it with a 4:1 ratio to perlite, with a layer of rocks and hydroton at the bottom of my pots. Two months later, the plants I put in them have barely grown, and look very unhealthy. I repotted one of them with MG soil and it simply sprang to life. The weird thing was that the plants in this soil rooted the whole pot, but had little to no growth.

No, I do not recommend this product.
Just like the other reviews, I could not get my potted tomato or pepper plants to grow. AND I have a fairly green thumb. I can't believe I kept waiting for the plants to grow while losing 2 months of precious sunlight and summer. I tried to contact the manufacturer, but since they make exclusively for Home Depot, I had no luck. I believe my hands are tied. I will not be able to get my money back or simply get the soil tested as to why it's so horrible. I thought if I could, the company would fix the issue as not to cause problems for us gardeners in the future.
Cons: this product stunts or kills your precious plants.

No, I do not recommend this product.
This "soil" seems to be primarily wood chips that have had some sort of organic fertilizer applied. It does not hold any water, and all the plants I potted up in this are dying. The same exact plants I potted up in another brand of soil are thriving. A big disappointment. I'm going to try to return the 1/3 bag I have left, but I've lost a couple weeks of growth, and now I'm going to have to spend time repotting. I am very disappointed.

I also consider myself a relatively experienced gardener, both container and in ground. However, this potting soil is the worst I have ever encountered. Plants simply do not thrive. They don't grow at all. I planted herbs and peppers in this soil as well as some 'old' Miracle Gro soil in pots that were sitting around from last year. The plants in the Vigaro are the same size (tiny) as when I planted them and are losing leaves. The plants in the 'old' soil are thriving and many times the size. I am transplanting the Vigaro potted plants to other soil or out into the garden to try and save them. Several are already looking much healthier and are starting to grow.
My experience was that it holds too much water and just says sopping wet for days after watering or rain even in well drained pots.
It is just all around poor soil. Do not buy this soil. Stick to the Miracle Gro Organic.
