Easy assembly & strong shelves!,
September 28, 2009
"I purchased 4 of these to use in my garage for storage, and I couldn't be happier with the end result. I assembled them myself, and each one took me around 15-20 minutes...only because I was doing this solo.
I would like to have seen a more substantial bolt or something joining the top and bottom half together. One of the corners of my shelf also chipped a bit on the metal when I laid it in.
Overall, though...excellent quality for the price and perfect for my intended use!"

"I have about 8 of these and am getting more. They are excellent, easy to install and adjust. My shelves each have about 200lbs of material on them and are going strong."

5 shelf heavy duty steel shelving/72h/48w/24d,

"this is very time consuming to put together, and even with a rubber mallot. shelving was still shaky after all 5/8 particle board was installed, and bolted to wall. rivets are not truly aligned to fit into frame- i had to really pound the frame together. particle board chiped apart in corners- need a thicker board than the 5/8 board that is included. would not recommend for anyone who has no prior building experience of shelving."

Inexpensive but not sturdy,
June 22, 2009
"These shelves are inexpensive and easy to assemble, but not heavy duty. They look like the ubiquitous grey industrial shelves except the metal columns and rails and the particle board shelves are much thinner. The joint between the top and bottom halves is fundamentally flawed and really should be bolted. The 4000lb load rating is a joke."

Workforce 5 shelves, 24x48x72,
May 15, 2009
"The shelves assembled easily, moved to the final location easily (wooden floor of my barn), and are QUITE durable. My mom and dad bought 8 packs of these and we had them installed in less than an hour. To make them even more stable (they are already quite stable when standing freely), I suggest bolting a 48in x 16in shear panel of 1/2in plywood across the back of the shelf. Do this about mid way up. I did this and screwed the panel to the studs of my barn wall. Not even a tornado could pull them off the wall!! Cost...fair price......Weight.....a bit heavy but STURDY!!....Assembly.....straight forward. if you buy more than one unit, they can be bolted together next to each other, or even across from each other. If across from each other, span the gap with 2x4's or 2x6's and put some plywood on top.....voila!! Instant loft (bolt them to the wall though....) Have a great day!!"

Holds up to the weight. Great storage solution.,
May 8, 2009
"This shelf is a great solution to your storage needs. It DOES hold a lot of weight (unlike what I have read in other reviews of this product). We stored 2 sets of sand tires on top (not light), 50 lb bag of lawn fertilizer next shelf (and other misc items), A large A/C window unit next shelf (very heavy), misc items on the 4th shelf (quite a bit of weight), and 20 or so 1 gallon cans of paint and stain on the bottom shelf (very heavy). The unit has held up to all the weight for over 4 years now and not one shelf is showing any sign of bowing or strain.
It may be a bit difficult to assemble but worth it in the end. Moving it is easy as well. Just simply remove the wood shelves and it is light as a feather. Only draw back is it is a bit larger so smaller spaces may not be practical for this shelving unit. I would recommend this product to a friend."

These shelves are going back tomorrow,
April 28, 2009
"They don't allow obscenities on here so I can't repeat what I said while trying to assemble the first of three. I couldn't even get the second shelve on because the holes don't line up and the posts keep slipping. I have had more than enough and they are going back tomorrow morning."

Buy Duck Tape and Bailing Wire.,
February 26, 2009
"I bought the product becasue I had to put a lot of weight on the shelves. Tools, chains, tools boxes, nut and bolt bins, Etc. 4000lb capacity perfect just what I needed. Until I put this thing together.
I needed duck tape to hold the upper section together with the lower section. I used wire to tie the rack to the wall so it would stand up right and not fall over. Then I used more duck tape to keep the shelve side supports from moving out ward when placing a load on the shelves, causing the shelves to fall through. I fully expect to go out in the morning and see everything on the floor in a heaping pile.
I will be retro fitting with 1/2 inch plywood. Drilling into the shelves through the shelve supports to keep the metal from pushing away when placing a heavy load on the shelves. Just remember you get what you pay for.
Good luck if you buy, and Buy Duck Tape and Bailing Wire if you do. Not to mention plywood and screws."

Does what it should, but...,
December 26, 2008

from Massachusetts homeowner, tinkerer.
"I've had two of these in my basement for years now. It does the job as advertised. The shelves are sturdy, spacious, and reliable. Perhaps a bit too rigid, which might be a problem if your basement floor has imprefections in it as mine does.
BUT...
watch out when the shelves get wet!
I had a gallon of paint rust through (should have thrown it out YEARS ago) and the wet paint destroyed the particle board shelf. The shelf, with about 10 other gallons of paint on it, collapsed. So, don't let them get wet."
