"It's not easy to install compared to a normal window unit. We had new windows installed and they were to narrow for our normal window unit. We only us this unit to cool our bed room so that we don't have to run the central unit & the rest of the house at 70 we can set our main unit at78-82 and sleep at 70. The unit was a little harder to install but it works great. Very cold air, noise level lower that our old 6500 btu unit.Remote works well from any angle. Very pleased with unit. 1-10 this is a 9.5"

"I was at the top end of the sqft capacity for this unit, but it has had no problem cooling my workout room (garage). It is small, but heavy, so get some help mounting it. The window install setup looked simple and straight forward. I of course had to get creative and mount it in a door, which wasn't too tough to accomplish. Overall, I am very happy with the unit thus far."

"I ordered this before it started warming up in Utah because I wanted to be ready. Luckily I was able to enlist a family member to help install this because it was fairly difficult. The AC is pretty big, so it's helpful to have a second person so it doesn't drop when you put it in the window.
I was worried about the support bracket because it seemed like I was going to have to drill holes in the walls and my (brand new) windows. The screw on the outside of my house doesn't actually go in to the wall, so the only screws are in the interior windowsill.
The piece designed to block off the window opening above the AC is made of corrugated plastic (similar to what you'd see with cardboard, but obviously water resistant.) This is fine, but as with some other spots, there are small gaps around it once installed, so I got some "great stuff" and insulating foam tape to fill in the gaps. I also covered the outside of the plastic with "great stuff" to better insulate so there would be less heat/cold transfer.
When I started it up, it was pretty noisy, but that's because of the front panel. This was easily fixed by removing the flimsy foam barrier on the inside of the panel and replacing it with something thicker to stop it from vibrating. Now all I hear is the motor when it kicks on and it's fairly quiet (i.e. if I have TV or music on, I don't feel like I need to increase the volume to drown the AC out.)
I have another LG unit in my house and I've been very happy with it, so I'm expecting good things from this. I'll update this post if I'm not.

"Fits a narrow window nicely, saves money by cooling only one room at night. We're turning the central way up at night and slashing our energy use."

"I was glad that I read the reviews before purchise. They were a great help and I had a good Idea of what to expect. The included filler is too short as I had read in other reviews on this unit. The mounting hardware consists of only one right angle brace which is not enough. The small size screws are anouther problem. The weight of the unit(45 lbs) is anouther challenge for installing without help. I have a two bedroom two bath double wide mobile home and my present ac was not keeping up and became easily overwhelmed with 100 degree heat. This unit performs better than expected cooling the frount half of the house very well. I no longer even run my other AC and my elec. bill is less."

"My wife and I purchased this unit for her laundry room. It's a pretty good sized room and the unit keeps it plenty cool and runs very little. A little tougher installation than what I was prepared for but we managed!"

Pretty good unit, installation a pain

"i bought this AC out of pure desperation. I live in an old house, with slider windows, and summers here the last couple weeks has been horrible. This unit fit right into my window, however it took us about an hour to figure out and install. This thing is heavy. You need a strong person to help you lift into the window. Instructions on installation could be clearer, and the extension to fill up the gap in the height of the window should be longer. I had a four inch gap after installing the extension, and needed to use a piece of wood to fill the empty space. The unit is nice, and does cool off my tiny living room after about an hour or so in what feels like a billion degree weather. I leave it on energy saver when I'm at work for my dogs. It powers on and off when it reaches your desired temp. Overall pretty good, but installation stinks. It's also a little more pricey than a standard unit, which is really too bad. These casement ACs are hard to find! Grab em while you can if you have a similar  window dilemma like me."

"This unit is overkill for my application, but required by
case size. It replaced an old unit in a basement bedroom. No more muggy basement.

"I have a very small double-hung window that replaced a casement. Air conditioner size was critical.
This LG fit the height exactly. I did have to build out the sides. It would have been better to have pull-out fins like some units do but none of those fit the height.
What I really care about is the cooling and it does that very well."

"The unit cools down my living room area pretty well. It wont freeze you out, but makes the area quite comfortable. also the unit is very quiet. I would have given it a perfect score if the fan had a more powerful setting to cool even better."

"We purchased the unit for my mother-in-law due to the hotter than usual temps in her area in PA. She lives in a home that's well over 100 years old so no AC which is usually not a problem but this year was an exception. The unit keeps her first floor cool so she can be comfortable instead of sweltering. She is very happy with the unit and hopefully it will last her a long time."
