Would it be possible to have it open from the middle to the left and right, rather than from bottom up?

I have casement window and would prefer open from middle- to the left and right.....or if not, than have it open from the right to the left...this will allow ac to be un-obstructed in summer, with the other side of window covered from the sun and heat, I am aware I can get verticals, but I prefer horizontal slats! Thank you for your time!!

Hello Hellen and thank you for your question.

I have recently had several customers change out their old windows for new energy efficient vinyl windows. You will need to check several measurements to ensure that the blinds will fit the new windows:

1. Will the window frame dimensions (height and width) be changed when the new windows are installed? Ask the installer how the new windows will be installed and if the framework and any existing window mouldings will be affected.

2. Even more importantly, how will the depth of the window change? You may still be able to install the blinds as an inside mount, however, they may extend outside the framework (no longer a flush-mount installation) or need to be installed as a ceiling mount (through the top of the framework).

Best wishes on your project.

Hey floyd,

Come into your local Home Depot and speak to a blinds/decor specialist. Every store I've ever worked for has a little tool box that has free spare blinds parts.

While some locations may or may not have the valance clips, consult the store's blinds/decor specialist to see if you can get a pair of them.

Hi Nathan,

You can follow the shortening steps included in the Installation & Maintenance Instructions sheet found inside product packaging.

Here is the steps of how to shorten the blind
1. Remove all bottom rail buttons
2. Cut knots from lift cord
3. Remove extra slats. (Carefully slide out
slats to the side until you reach your
desired length)
4. Replace bottom rail onto ladders location nearest
the desired length and cut off excess ladders.
(Leave approximately 2” (5cm) below the bottom rail)
5. Twist ladders end and insert into
bottom rail holes

Hey Kimb,

Yes, it would be at the very top of the headrail to the bottom of the blinds themselves.

The brackets typically don't count in specs, but be sure to measure your window exactly so you can get the right size blind.

Question

Just installed, can't get the blinds to fall

Asked by
kingofpop
San Francisco
about White 2 in. Faux Wood Blind, 64 in. Length (Price Varies by Size) on
July 7, 2014
The blinds were easily installed but when I attempt to operate them, I can cannot lower the blinds. I couldn't figure out how to do Step 6b (Slide the plastic sleeve down), which I suspect could be a release for the blinds themselves. There doesn't appear to be anything I can pull down for step 6b,, it appears to be just an exposed book for the wand to connect to. Also, unlike in the photo in the instructions, my wand has the hook and the hole is in the blind itself - the instructions show the hook is on the blinds and the wand has a loop.
