The drain for the K-1142-0 does need to be purchased separately. The suggested drain for this tub is a 7259-* (* finish needs to be added), this is available in several different finishes.

We recommend Kohler drains 11677-cp or pb and the 7259- which comes in array of finishes. The drain size is 1 1/2 overall diameter.

Are the two corners at the top of the tub flat, so that a cup of coffee could be placed there?

Thank you for your inquiry. The tub has molded in arm rests and lumbar support for the back. The top of the tub is flat with a slight slant towards the inside of the tub. A cup would be able to sit on the ledge.
