RIDGID does not offer a router bit kit or bit set specifically for the R24012 laminate trimmer with its ¼” shank only, bit capability. The trimmer is recommended for the purposes of smooth professional trimming of laminates, trimming counter tops and finishing cabinet work, and trimming woods and plastics.

This router takes any 1/4 inch shank bits. Even though it is a very powerful router, watch how big of a bit you use due to control. It will start eating out a lot of material if you let it get away from you.

Any 1/4" shank router bit, up to a certain diameter, will work on this router. This router is too small and underpowered for the really big router bits. Those big bits should only be used with table mounted routers anyway.

You have to register for the lifetime warranty. I completed the info online but received an email stating they could not verify my info so they requested the UPC and a copy of the online bill. They want that sent CERTIFIED MAIL, which cost me $6.30 out of pocket. They say it will take up to 12 weeks to verify the info and I should keep a copy of what was sent in case they ask for it again. This is the first product ever that I could not register on line with name of product, model and serial number. A bit overboard, and costly, in my view.

There is a three-year limited warranty. The bearing in mine gave out after three years and one week. I'm not sure if I should offer congratulations on a well-made, or well-timed machine. It worked like a charm for three years of fairly regular use.

This router has a shaft lock then a wrench to release the collett. The router will accept any 1/4 inch bits, but make sure you have very good control. It is a very powerful little tool and can get away from you when it bites in.

RIDGID does not have any provisions for that application with the R2401, or information that would assist in that process, since the R2401 is designed and marketed for upright use, as a laminate trimmer, not a router mounted in an inverted position in a router table.

Yes....sort of.....any router can be mounted to a table. It may take a little engineering but it could be done. Frankly I would recommend a full size router for that application. They generally have more power and bigger bases, most tables were designed with them in mind.

Any router can be mounted to a table if you're willing to look for the right hardware etc. I'm not aware of an insert plate that accepts this one, but you could drill one yourself.

Yes and no. A standard router table will not accept this router. However if you look online (I cannot put other companies names here, but search for it online. A major woodworking retailer makes them) you will find a really nice inexpensive table made for smaller routers like this.
