As far as I know, the bolts are the only part of the toilet seat that you can get as separate parts. If anything else is broken you will likely have to replace the entire seat.

I installed my slow close American Standard seat on a 50 year old Crane toilet. It fits fine. Toilet bowls are, for the most part, a standard size whether round or elongated.

Today's toilet sizes are pretty much standardized. An American Std. , or any other slow closer described as an "elongated" should fit your toilet.

my friend has one that the top goes down slowly, and the seat is slightly curved , i'm hoping that this is the seat that she has. I know she bought it at Home depot.

This seat slopes into the center. Obviously the outside edge is curved as well and the seat is somewhat narrower at the back than in front (but the lid does not narrow and covers the seat and bowl completely). Hope that helps.
