There is not an exact replacement. There are many current model microwaves that will fit into a 30" wide installation space. The model numbers will begin with the The model numbers will begin with the letters "CVM", "PVM", "PNM", "JVM1", "JVM2", or "JNM".

The microwave is UL approved to be mounted a minimum of 66" from the top of the microwave to the floor. This will provide the proper space needed between the bottom of the microwave and the range top. Microwave ovens are extremely difficult to diagnose. There are many components in a microwave that can cause similar symptoms. For safety reasons, GE offers no do-it-yourself repair advice on microwave ovens due to:
*Safety requirements due to high voltage (capacitor hold a high voltage charge even after it has been unplugged)
*Complexity of electronic circuitry.
*Special equipment needed to make diagnosis.

The microwave will fit into the current 30" location. None of the installation kits are totally interchangeable. You must use the new mounting system and hardware that comes with the specific microwave. There are vent duct, cord cut-out location and mounting screw location changes for these models.
