How far from the drain can we install this dishwasher?

We would like to install this dishwasher about 4 feet from the drain. Does this dishwasher have enough power for that distance?

you generally want the dishwasher to be on the right or left side of your sink. Find out how long the drainage pipe is on your dishwasher. they generally are about four feet long I believe. Not a good idea to use an electrical extension cord on a dishwasher.

yes it does We had to install over 6ft from the sink and it works fine

Most dishwashers are 24 inches across. You might use a space save 18 inch model but the choices are far fewer for these types.

Hello Joel,

This is Donna from GE and I will be happy to help you with your quesiton on the GE Spacemaker Built-In Dishwasher model # GSM1800NWW.

Cabinets are normally 24" deep minimum. I would recommend to double check the depth. The rough cabinet opening must be at least 24" deep and 17-5/8" to 18" wide. The opening should be 34" to 35" max. height.

The Installation Instructions are available on the Home Depot website under "More Info" and then Instructions.

The 18" dishwasher are more of a special order. Because there is not a large demand, it is usually priced higher. The retail dealer will establish their own pricing.
