Model number PEB2060SMSS has the option to install as a built in using a 27" trim kit.

The GE Deluxe Built-In 27" Trim Kit is model number JX2027SMSS. This model requires a 27 inch width cabinet.

I suggest you visit our GE Appliance website to view the installation instructions for the trim kit to check the cut out opening requirements.

I will be happy to assist you with your question on the Profile microwave. Will you be mounting this above a 27" wall oven or a 30" wall oven. Model PEB2060SM has requires a trim kit to build in to a cabinet. Following are the trim kits.

Optional 27" Built-In Kit JX2027DM: Cut Out: 16 3/4" H x 25 1/2" W
Optional 30" Built-In Kit JX2030DM: Cut Out : 16 3/4" H x 25 1/2" W

The built-in 30” kit for the PEB2060SMSS (stainless steel color) is model number JX2030SMSS. The 30” trim kit for the PEB2060DMBB (black color) is the JX2030DMBB. If this is not listed on our website, please give our Parts Department a call at: "1-877-650-2121",and they can help get this ordered from GE.

If installing this model into a cabinet, it requires using the built-in trim kit JX2027SMSS. It requires the following cut-out opening.

Height: 16-3/4 ± 1/16"
Width: 25-1/2 ± 1/8"
Depth: 22" MIN. receptacle in cabinet 19-1/2" MIN. receptacle outside cabinet

if just installing in a cabinet without a trim kit, then 3" around all top,sides and back are required for proper airflow. The depth of the microwave is 19 13/32" plus an additional 3" for clearance if no trim kit is used.

Model PEB2060SMSS is 2.0 cubic feet and can be installed as a built-in with trim kit JX2027SM. The microwave has the following dimensions.

Overall Height: 13 25/32"
Overall Width: 24"
Overall Depth: 19 13/32 "

Model JE2160SF is also a Profile model and is 2.1 cubic feet inside. It requires trim kit JX2127 if being built into a cabinet. Following are the external dimensions.

Overall Height: 14"
Overall Width: 24"
Overall Depth: 19 1/2"

The new microwave model # PEB2060SMSS is only designed to work with the new trim kits # JX2030SMSS or JX2027SMSS. The JX2127 trim kit is not recommened for the PEB2060SMSS and therefore, will not fit properly.

The new trim kit would need to be used as screw hole locations have changed and cosmetics. The cutout needed may have changed in width and the sides may need to be shimmed out or altered
slightly.

Hi Steve, this is Sheree from GE and I will be glad to assist you with your questions on our GE Profile 2.0 cu. ft. countertop microwave in stainless steel model # PEB2060SMSS. I am sorry that you are having trouble with this unit. The control panel is available from the Home Depot parts department at 1-877-650-2121. Please call them for pricing and availability. Normally repairs on a less expensive product like a microwave are not the best investment. You can purchase a brand new microwave for almost the amount as repairing one.
