The engineers pointed out something. The large wall plate will slide up and seal along the length of the cartridge. The cartridge is 2 inches long, so ideally, you should have at least an inch to play with. Since the top handle rotates (doesn't swivel) then that wall plate can travel right up to under the top handle. So long as you can get the wall plate over the cartridge and under the knob, you should be ok.

Give that a try, and send pictures if that doesn't work.
Hope this helps

I am not aware of a commercial extension. The product manager is forwarding your question to his product engineers, so check back in a day or two, I'll try to answer again with his findings.. I don't see an easy way to fabricate one from off the shelf items.

It's supposed to unscrew. remember Gladis, righty tighty, lefty loosey. Simply turn the spout counterclockwise to loosen the spout. Hopefully the installer didn't use an adhesive or silicone caulk when it was installed.

This comes with a pressure balance spool mixes the hot and cold water, so you cannot access just a hot water control. Please call the technical support department for advise on how to to increase the temperature on this product: 1-888-328-2383.
They will need your model number which is: F1AA4535BNV.

Question

how do I turn the handle stem on a single handle shower/tub glacier bay faucet.

Asked by
Tramcar
Chicago
about Builders Single-Handle Tub and Shower Faucet in Brushed Nickel-DISCONTINUED on
June 10, 2013
When the water is turned off the handle is at 4:00 as oppossed to straight down more like 6:00. When I removed the handle I see the stem is square and as such the handle can only fit in one of four positions of which none are at 6:00. How do I turn the stem so the handle will sit at 6:00?

My handle sits at the 6:00 position when closed. This faucet is equipped with a high temperature controller that is preset at the factory. You will see it as the red ring under the handle on the stem. I'll bet that is set at the factory and is stopping you from getting the faucet handle to stop at 6:00. I took that off, as I have the high temp set at my water heater. Try taking that out (works fine without it) and see if that lets you take the faucet all the way to 6:00.

No, however, you will notice two large brass cutoff valves on each of the input lines. They are the straight slotted inset screws on each side. They are meant to cutoff the flow of water in case you need to remove the center cartridge to replace any seals in the future. If you have too much volume, you could spin those in to fine tune the volume of water. If you have too little volume, you could check to make sure they are all the way out, they should be set the way from the factory. They weren't meant for that, but could be used for that.

Hope this helps
